Got scorched earth and guardian of the sands xerath back to back in mystery skins, help me learn him

I feel strangely obligated to master xerath now. What do you all recommend I watch/read? Got any tips?

It takes sheer skill of your ult to make a solo-kill in lane. you must get used to it fast

~~Learn how to script~~ I'm sure you could find some videos on YouTube of him being used in ranked and whatnot to become better with him. He's seen in mid-lane.

You can proc your passive (mana regen) from raptor camp, if your lane is pushed to enemy turret. That way you don't have to wait for enemy wave, and also stay relatively safe. Alternatively, you can poke enemies under tower pretty safely.

Play more. I'm not good at isolating single elements of the game, so when I found Ahri, at first I was really crappy. Then I decided to play a bunch of games with her to get a feel for how her champion kit "flows", and I've improved a bit.

 I've played a bit of Xerath and there are a couple things I would usually do.

When I use my Q, I would sit back in my lane, charge it up all the way, and let the enemy champion move around and try to predict where they'd be. -If it's someone fast, I usually played safe, and wouldn't try to trade unless I land my stun. Soo... in short... E -> Q or W -> E -> Q (W if you need the slow) -I had a really hard time with this, but I eventually learned how to not be super greedy for kills. Unless I knew that I could kill someone with one combo, in general I would stay towards the back or in a safe position.
