I'm in my Silver II Promos...
So why are there two Gold I people on the enemy team? This is 6 ranks ahead of me. Bronze III people don't play against me, so why am I dealing with the opposite...IN MY PROMOS!?

Happens all the time up here mate.
The MMR system and League system don't align with each other, and MMR is the only system actually used for anything, the league system is only used as a displayed cover sheet for the MMR system.
Your MMR is pretty good to play tough opponents, this means you gain more MMR too, you can climb faster.
