A few questions about the jungle

  1. Why isn't leash ever at gromp or krugs?

  2. Why do we never smite for leash?

  3. Why is leash now always at bot lane rather than wherever the jungler wants?

It never used to be like this. The jungle has changed, but I never got to know why.

  1. Why isn't leash ever at gromp or krugs?

We used to but they changed spawn times so that buffs come up sooner (thus respawning sooner) and gromp spawns a few seconds later, hence why at the moment its quicker for us to start there then bot lane wait for gromp and miss the first couple CS.

  1. Why do we never smite for leash?

You don't need it, with 3 people you take down the buff fast enough level 1, and when you're on your own you'll likely take more damage/be at risk of counter jungling, this makes smite more important as you'll lose more health without allies and smite will heal you, and it'll be off cooldown to secure buffs.

  1. Why is leash now always at bot lane rather than wherever the jungler wants?

It can still be where ever. Just 2 people give a better leash than 1 in most cases. There's even a leashless / mid laner help clear with wolves for early level 4.

Often times a jungler just wants to farm so they don't path to gank any particular lane, so they go the better side to leash. Other times junglers want to hit level 3 and impact a lane, where they can be top / mid level 3 faster then bot lane since they'll have a slower leash, but its still an option. Pathing to help/countergank top also gives an advantage top so you can focus on the bot side for the rest of the game for drag.

Ok, I admit, I don't quite get 1 and 3. But the whole point of a leash is to save your smite so you can use it on snagging your next buff and get rolling.

Before season 7, leash would usually be at either gromp or krugs, never at red or blue buff. Also, leash would sometimes be at toplane, depending on the jungler's wishes. ALSO, smite was used during leash, but now it isn't.
