Armor Penetration is Crap!

I was just using against a and he literally sat there and spammed the laugh emote while I used my full combo (W > Q > AA > R > AA), he only went to about 70% health, then ult'd and of course melted me because I'm a squishy.

Update: I read your comments, but I fully disagree with the whole "assassins should never fight tanks" since there are items/masteries/runes specifically made for you to penetrate defenses. No reason I shouldn't have been able to melt Malphite with that build. I know I'm supposed to focus the squishies but the squishies were dead! Which left against and since we all had AD champs except and they had armor, they killed all 5 of us.

That is a major balancing issue. Could we have had better team comp... yes, but regardless, Camille, Graves and I were fed 5/0 or better and they were all negative, just stacking armor. How is that fair?

A Talon is not supposed to be any threat to full health Malphite.

Talon is supposed to removes squishies. Think more ADC and APC. That is why he goes Mid lane and not top lane.

Because Talon is an assassin, and he is not using AA mainly to damage, he is ability reliant.

Also, try AA > Q > AA next time if you are in range for that.

Yeah, malph has lots of hp, and the thornmail is probably what got you, as talon does big damage, so your damage was reflected at you, and you are squishy.

Me tho, I main Morde, and even with Randuins, Deadmans, and Zhoynas, I am still melted by talons and others with lots of armor pen.

Assassins in general aren't ever threats to fully built tanks.

If I'm not supposed to be a threat to tanks at all, why the hell would I even bother buying armor pen. I don't need it for mages, marksmen or other assassins. If that's the case, I should have just went item 3072 item 3812 item 3065 item 3742 item 3026 item 3111 . I thought armor pen was specifically so I could melt tanks if I was ahead.

I was 8/2 and Malphite was 0/9 but he had a lot of gold from minions and like 10 assist ( Camille was owning him top lane). None the less, he comes to gank me mid lane after I just dropped Malzahar again (without using my ult and all my abilities on CD), so I'm like you're next. then I hit him and... nothing! Then he hits me and... everything!
