playing bard is frustrating in ranked

Bard is good. people are just bad and dont realize he's all based on teamwork.

"alright guys, i just ulted 3 of their tanks, melt the carries before they come up"

rest of the team waits until tanks come out of stasis and start hitting them as soon as they come up

or "hey go take the healing shrine while you're right next to it farming"

adc waits until lane gets pushed past it to try to get it, and gets killed "wtf bard you're trash

or my personal favorite is when i ult someone as bard, and AFTER I throw my ult, people all try to ult the enemy team before they get stasis'd. and then i get slapped with "wow bard trolling what a shitty ult"

the most annoying though? when i blow every single ability i have to SAVE you, and you run straight back into a 2v3 because i showed up. PSA**WHAT LITTLE DAMAGE I DO, IS COUPLED WITH COOLDOWNS. PLS. IF IM RUNNING IN AND SAVING YOU, RUN.**

he's all based on teamwork.

And that's why he's bad in SoloQ. The nature of this champ forces him to be a sub-optimal support for soloQ because if not, he'd be a God in competitive scenes.

What you say is true. He is frustrating in soloQ, but its natural as soloQ players are by definition not synchronized and teamwork with randoms is and will always be harder than with a team of premades that played a lot of games together.

Does this mean you need to stop playing Bard? Not unless the frustration grows so big that you can't cope with it anymore. Bard is a fun champ but can be really frustrating, so it's up to you if you actually enjoy him overall. He's definitely viable atm but he is and always will be a lower tier support champ for soloQ.

it means that everybody but the bard player is wrong for hating bard because bard is the most fun best designed and best looking champ in league untill taric gets his vu but that aside is like hating you because you happen to be black. guess what thats kinda racist hating a champ or a role.

To me he's viable as long as he plays pretty music and twirls around.

Ulting all the tanks, hmmmm. Depends on your distance. if enemy ADC/APC have mobility or not, their position during stasis and your teams 100-0 potential.

So many conditions, short duration and people have different thoughts. Wouldn't try to risk this OP and reserve that tactic when playing with a team of your own.

Yeah, ulting the frontline is a really situational idea here. For one, yes you only have their carries to deal with. But think of your team's carries. When they walk up to the enemies that aren't in stasis where does that put them? In the middle of the enemy tanks that you just ulted. Chances are the enemy carries are going to kite you until their tanks are out of your ult. Walking past the enemy frontline is an incredibly risky and most of the time wrong thing to do. Once their tanks are out of stasis that puts them right on top or your carries who are chasing down the enemy back line. Now you're totally screwed.

I'd only do this if I had an assassin that can 100-0 an enemy adc within a second. Bard's ult doesn't last long enough for a run and chase scenario.

Agreed. Unless you can kill the carries before the tanks come up, ulting the frontline and expecting your team to run into the backline is basically a free initiation for the enemy.

What i do, is go in front of the tanks, wait until they come out of stasis, and then stun two of them for free stuns. it extends the time my guys can kill my carries in. in theory we should be either out right after or try to win the teamfight with an ace.

That last part for EVERY SUPPORT EVER.

Like wow, I just used my 8 second cd stun to stop three of them chasing you! Keep running, you're good! Wait. what ar- stop omg! oh.. 'report my supp, they trash'

But as a Bard player, overjoyed at this post. _understand my paaain _

Junglers and mid laners are the only ones ever excited to see me, because I leave them a shrine before minions spawn. 'wow ty bard!'

If you play bard, find an adc main to duo with.

There is one item you and your team must buy to make proper use of Bard. Microphone.

Underrated post.

You expect coordination in solo que, that is your mistake in choosing bard.

also I am guilty of waiting for people to come out of stasis rather than just diving onto a carry, but at least if my support tries to save me I all but leap at the chance to run away. Then again I play support more than anything else these days, so I know when my support is trying to save my life.

I had a bard/Caitlyn enemy lane in a ranked game and he did really well. And I'm in Bronze

He is sorta based on teamwork, but he isn't reliant on it. If your AD isn't taking your shrines don't put them out for him, use it for other things like bait or ms steroid. There are so many things you can do with bard that doesn't include literally supporting your team. make plays his he has 3 ccs. auto / Q / ult

not reading, don't pick bard.

Oh, wow! It's like this game actually requires teamwork or something! Hey, wowee gee golly!

Shall I just point to the multiple days in which, out of 4% of the games played, Bard had 100-fucking-% winrates and on a day with 12% playrates he was at over 80% winrates? Wowee wow! Gosh I wish I could figure out how that works!
