How many games do I have as Draven? I mean, he's sort of my most played ADC, so like, hundreds as well? I don't have an exact number but I've been playing him consistently since 2012.
Second, I know what you're suggesting is an ease of use buff AND a DPS buff. What I'm saying is that he doesn't need either. He snowballs for more reasons than his passive, do you remember his old passive where his crits and spinning axes bled the target? He was the Snowball ADC then too. Why? Because his Early and Mid game is obscene.
Graves bursting faster than Draven is like saying Talon bursts faster than Ahri. Duh. Graves is the Burst ADC. Lucian bursting faster is arguable however. He has the raw numbers for sure however it's time locked within his cast times for his spells, and his ultimate is a channel that is easily mitigated, while his Q can be side stepped. Draven's burst comes exclusively from his AAs, and when Draven crits 2 or 3 times in a row, he wins the trade because, surprise surprise, it "bursts" harder than Graves assuming they're at equal gold values.
What does Draven bring to a team? As more or less stated, he's a Mid Game powerhouse. Most ADCs are built for the Late Game, Draven specifically however functions best in the Mid Game due to his Stand Aside being great for skirmishes and dealing with assassins and his high damage is mostly unmitigated by armor stacking by this point in the game. So, to answer the question: What does Draven bring to the team? An obscene amount of damage.
And again. Hitting "s" to grab the axe isn't a huge problem to Draven. You seem to be ignoring his W that resets infinitely and gives him more than enough movespeed to exceed his distance traveled if he didn't stop at all. Allowing him to catch axes without stopping would make his chase potential far too high when he isn't a chase champion in the first place.
Also are the insults seriously necessary? You're acting like a child when somebody dares to disagree with you.
No the insults are not necessary. I apologize. Perhaps we can bond over the fact that a couple of weeks ago, I e'd a riven out of her knock up and killed her before she hit the ground with two crits XD.
She built full dmg and surely would have killed me if she had managed her cooldowns better or build randuins. See, what had happened was I was splitting bot lane and she came from the jg having just used her shield and one charge of her q. I had both axes up and sort of stalled by pretending I would run, but not very far. So being an obnoxious riven, she q's twice more while all of her abilities are on cd. I e'd her from max range as she hits the third q and just slapped that pussy with two autos. That was all she wrote.
On Draven vs. Lucian:
According to you, Draven has better burst assuming he crits twice in a row. Assuming Lucian crits twice in a row in the same trade that draven does, neither will win. Dont try to make it out like the adc lottery benefits draven lol. Luc's Q will be worth one draven axe or more, and his double tap will be worth the second. Crits cancel crits. They are even and lucian does not have to worry ab pathing or dravens ult with his dash available. I definatly give lucian the edge. He has mobility and equal burst and better kiting despite his range deficiency. Dravens advantage comes in that he benefits from lifesteal much harder than lucian but this is too strongly mitigated by armor. If draven builds bt and Lucian builds IE then Draven will win most of the time bc 1/5 chance at a crit is too low compared to 20% life steal.
If they both have IE then its not about the champion match up. Its about the # of crits obviously. I know dravens dmg is crazy if he crits you with IE. All it takes at that point is another auto, e, and his ulti and any squishy without zhonyas is dead. However, its just not as reliable as burst from luc's abilitys if you dont have another crit item.
If I buy IE i usually count the number of auto's I have to put out in order to get my first crit. Its taken as many as 10 and routinely takes 7.. Draven will kill most people in the game with 7 autos at 20 min. It wont matter if that 7th one is a crit by that time. Hes already done a shit ton of dmg. However, the lifesteal he gets from BT is applied to every auto and allows him to be aggressive and recover from mistakes if his team is wimpy or if the support forgets exhaust..
You mention that lucian is time gated. So is draven, who is btw somewhat of a caster. If you can zone him from minions for at least five seconds with a character like vi, then ALL of his dmg is gone because his axes despawn.
Now, I will admit that with a cdr item like ER and a range booster like RFC, it will be feasible to maintain his axes in a bronze teamfight. However, that is removing his counterplay. Why not just let him store charges of axes? The same is accomplished without an entire rework. And anyway, Id rather have axes I can catch while smoothly orb walking so I can look cool. Shrug, far from making me more satisfied with draven, the changes to draven are likely to make me more satisfied with adc life in general bc now I have a liffesteal item that prevents burst dmg.. deaths dance.
Overall, the item changes keep adc's out of that awkwardness that can sometimes happen if you get camped or if there is a lot of unproductive fighting in your lane. So these changes are ok. especially with that deaths dance item. I can see Draven buying vamp and pickaxe first back. He is really flexible in what he can build after that. I can tell I wont have as many games where I feel completely useless because I unexpectedly got 5 camping bot lane and then renekton built armor+black cleaver, or some such shit..
