Ornn does juggernaut level of damage while being one of the best tanks in the game

Yesterday 4 professional players said that ornn damage got so overbuffed that his lane is among the strongest and nobody can actually push him out of lane or outdamage him as a tank

Ornn does not do juggernaut level damage. I was thinking that the lack of level 1 mr probably pushed him over the edge, but he most certainly does not have juggernaut-tier damage.

And "One of the best tanks in the game?" By what metric? If you mean cc potential, he has pretty decent cc but it's very conditional - not unlike Sion, actually.

If you mean that he has a powerful defensive steroid, yeah, his W provides very high windowed tankiness and the cc resistance is potential powerful, but he's pretty vulnerable when it's down -again, not unlike Sion.

His passive is ridiculous, but he also has some of the worst backline access of a Vanguard in the game, so he's pretty well limited in his potential for being broken.

Is he probably overtuned? Yes. Is he a genuine design issue? Probably not.

They play at a professional level though. For us average players there are always mistakes and openings we can abuse.

He may be overtuned, but that doesn't mean we can't deal with him in the meantime.

he is overtuned and thats where the conversation should end. there was no reason to give a champion 4 buffs each patch for 3 patches in a row.

No. Hes right about pros.

There was a champ in dota 2 with a 30% winrate due to his difficulty yet had a 100% pick/ban rate at tournaments due to how broken OP he was in the hands of a pro.

You cant just say "hes overtuned for a pro so hes overtuned for everyone".

He got continuous buffs because he has a decent power curve with the various CC conditions and everyone thought he was too weak. His entire combo is fairly telegraphed and can be avoided, and all of his damage is locked into hitting W, a short range cone that deals it’s damage over the duration, meaning you can avoid taking the full damage even if you’re hit by one or two ticks of it.

I agree (not juggernaut damage though)

He trades WAY too well. The dude takes a corrupting pot and just trades over and over and over and will come out on top.

At first i thought it was me, but after facing plenty of Ornns I really do think he trades too well.

Why would Ornn take corruption pot? He doesn’t want to back.

This.

Better off starting cloth armor and 4 pots depending on the matchup. I like to start rejuv bead and a mana crystal if the matchup allows.

He doesn't want to, but sometimes he has to. I guess it's personal preference.

I normally take it on Ornn personally. You can't forge consumables in lane, so early on there will be a point in time where you're forced to go back. I can avoid buying more potions this way, and when I have mana problems in lane I have something to help me out.

That said I'm also very inexperienced with Ornn, so that might have something to do with it.

Corrupting pot is actually a risky first buy, as you eventually have to back to restock the three charges.

Since I enjoy playing him he is probably op. That being said, if he has to back even when played well he is not working as intended.
