You can deny it, but she has everything a toplane mage needs at the moment: Mobility, True Damage, Wave clear, CC, and Late Game Carry potential.

I would add "tower taking" to the list, but I haven't tried her with Lichbane yet. In a nutshell, while I think Ahri is a little weak at the moment (her damage is too low), pro players are going to find a way to make her really strong in the toplane, and then she will become the number 1 toplaner used in the LCS/worlds (unless Riot nerfs her before then).

Get your freelo while its hot. Next secret OP I want to try and break, Z'zrot Portal Poppy; use your E and place a portal right behind them the moment you connect to get a free stun and extra damage. Works well on her, because she benefits off of its stats extremely well. Also, Diana is making a serious comeback, being the tanky Akali of the League again, due to the fact all of her counters have gotten hyper-nerfed. She is also perfect for fucking up those pesky Kats that are currently roaming all happy and shit around the League.

I used to see Ahri building LichBane quite a lot. I also see her as a support fairly often. This kind of makes me like Ahri a bit more, I tend to like champions that aren't pigeonholed into one specific role/location

I don't see it. Also, since when is that a requirement for top lane?

Not really a requirement, I was merely putting it there because many strong top laners (like Fiora and Darius) can do amazing things late game, especially if they get fed even slightly. That is kinda where Ahri stands at the moment. A lot of people are shitting on Ahri atm in the forums, but she really is not the bad with her rework. Maybe she could have a little better numbers, but I think that she is at a good place. Ahri can do some amazing things toplane, also, so that is a bonus for her.

Out of curiosity, do you run mana seals/glyphs on her? I took her top a few times last season without them, and I got wrecked because I had to back every few seconds.

Naw. Personally, in the early game she can sustain toplane well enough as long as you ration when to use her spells. The damage will properly stick to opponents, as they are still only getting their tankiness off of their runes and masteries, with no items to help. Also, at level 6, you can go hard in the paint with her. She has great follow up and spells to properly benefit off of the longer lane, also, because you can punish for longer when popping your ult, without having to worry about running into turret.

My runes are Magic Pen reds, Scaling Health yellows, Scaling AP blues, and Flat AP quints; though feel free to change it based on how well you can manage your mana. Personally, I found that if you rush a catalyst/ROA, your mana sustain is pretty good, where you can use spells over and over (within reason for a mana champ, of course).

I just tried Ahri top in a game. I got matched against a Garen; I thought I was absolutely screwed. I rocked lane harder than I had in any of my 5.2 games with her mid. Like, wow. We still lost because I didn't have much map presence and Teemo+Shyv got a bit fed. But that was incredibly fun. Thank you for recommending that lol.

From the looks of it, you built her to be a mid lane mage while bringing her top. Honestly, I woulda dropped the Abyssal and would have gotten a Rylais. Glad you liked the idea, though. Personally, I think more people should practice around with it; I am sure that someone will find a way to break it soon.

she offers far less to a teamfight than what is expected of most toplaners. i seriously doubt your prediction will come true. she is also far better suited for midlane than dueling against an irelia or gnar.
