Here is just an idea: Quick silver sash is no longer effective against suppression.

Malzahar Malzahar's ultimate puts himself in danger when he uses it. I'd appreciate being rewarded crippling myself to get the target I want, and not have them just walk away or jump on my face after I've put my combo on the spot I ulted them at. Warwick Warwick's ultimate is a great engaging ult, it'd be nice for it to be effective. Urgot Can you QSS Urgot's ultimate?

I like the idea of having my ultimate not being rendered completely useless. The fact that QQS can be upgraded into scimitar adding magic resist, dmg, speed buff, and cleanse, while also negating an entire ultimate is ridiculous. It is geared just for the adc. Most ultimates that cc are either a stun and slow surrounding characters, an area stun, Or an area knock up that can't be reduced. My point is why must the characters with the single target suppresion get rendered useless, while these other champs come in with their massive cc ultimates. Its not like the suppression ultimates have no counterplay. Each one in a teamfight will put them in a compromising position. I think this would be a nice change.

Here's the thing. You can't design an ultimate with absolutely 0 counterplay. You get hit by it, you are stuck with NOTHING you can do about it for SEVERAL seconds. THAT is bullshit. If you get a team of Urgot, Malz, and Warwick together (dear god) you need QSS.

Malzahar and Warwick's ultimates can be stopped with any other form of cc from a teammate. Urgot completely switches with you so theres that. At least nerf scimitar. Thats a lot of utility for one item slot, and it adds dmg.

so how can you counter this?Yasuo

Knock ups. The absolute form of cc. Can't be reduced, but you can add more time to it. Yasuo

Huh? You mean like every knockup or knockback? You get hit by it and you're stuck with it? The trick to them is to not get hit. Characters aren't functional when everything(or in this case, the only thing) they can do is full of counterplay.

What other characters in the game besides Zed(QSS removes Death Mark, if I recall) are punished for doing well? If you start to snowball as a Warwick or Malzahar or Skarner, their squishies are going to buy a QSS to remove your threat from the game.

Malzahar and Warwick can be stopped by any hard CC on top of that, too. Skarner's kit is so heavily budgeted to his Ult that all of his other skills suck and he's easier to kite than Darius.

The trick to them is to not get hit.

Malzahar and Warwick's ultimates are click abilities. You CANNOT dodge that outside of staying out of X units of them (which is unhealthy gameplay)

Long Dong Wukong1 votes

Yeah I said the trick is not to get hit, which includes not walking into their range.

This involves staying out of range until they use them. Every suppression is point and click and most CC ults are point and click or non-skillshot, btw.

Also, there's no reason to think that being zoned because a champion has an ult is unhealthy gameplay. Is it unhealthy that you have to stay out of range of Alistar because if you walk clear enough he'll E Q combo or flash Q and E you into his team? Is it unhealthy that if you don't stay away from Lissandra's R she'll ult you?

No, it's just normal gameplay

I never said those champions were ok either. And yes, staying out of range is really bad gameplay (it doesn't promote interaction between champions.) It's one thing that your threat range is blocked by hiding behind minions or avoiding skill shots. It's another thing to if you are close to me, combo kill dead and you can't do anything

Varus's ult is a skillshot root. Sona and Braum (despite the large AoE) are "skillshot" ultimates. Ashe's ultimate is a skill shot ultimate, and only stuns for 1 second (not that long) if she point blanks you with it.

Lissandra's Ult range is close to the size of every ADC's auto attack range, not to mention she generally has to dive in to do most of her damage at a risk to herself. Malzahar does not have to risk himself as much since he's ranged (700 range on ult is bigger than most adc's auto attack range) and if no one is around to stop their ultimates, they pretty much win the fight for free since you can't dodge it.

Like it or not, Warwick is getting a rework soonish and he's no doubt losing his free click suppress. Malzahar is no doubt not that far behind with a similar loss. Click CC regardless shouldn't be a thing, it i

He's not losing his point and click suppress. Ever suppression is point and click, they're budgeted as such to make them guaranteed to hit, because that's what they're supposed to do.

Last I saw about Warwick's rework was that they were making his passive stack like 8 times(not breaking even until like stack 6) and they were making his ult hit like 8 times. These were the plans awhile ago, I haven't seen them talk about it since then.

But anyway, every character in the game with dangerous CC or deletion ult has a danger zone around them, a lot of them are point & click.

Like it or not, it's standard gameplay and all of them can be stopped. Skarner and Urgot have cast times that can be interrupted, Warwick and Malzahar are channeled spells. If you're getting shit on that's your deal, but there's a reason none of those champions are meta picks. They have 50% of their kit's budget sent into a single skill that can be interrupted or cleansed with ease.

Staying out of range of something that is going to kill you isn't bad gameplay, it's nothing more than common sense, you're just bad if you can't figure out how to do it. That's what you're missing here.

BUT NO COUNTERPLAY!

Edit: Damn beaten to it. So there is 0 counterplay to a character that CC's themselves at the same time as CCing you. Its not like anyone else can CC them or disrupt it and in turn disrupt their damage. And its not like they're very weak in other ways either.

Cause...you know...its not fair for people to be able to use their abilities on you.

~SINCERELY, ADC's everywhere.

Neidox1 votes

Wait, anyone can disrupt their ultimates. They don't become invulnerable. If you stun or knock up Malzahar and Warwick their ultimates will be stopped, and this game has tons of those.

Neidox1 votes

Side note: Adc's aleady get everything handed to them, and are babied in lane. One nerf to QSS and scimitar will not be the end of the game. Tis called peel and teamwork.

Marthian1 votes

Except if no one is near to interrupt your ult, you just instant win.

you forgot skarner's ult. also a suppression item 3070 Skarner

derp.

It shouldn't have affected suppression in the first place. Suppression should have been the non-knockup form of unescapable CC, especially because it is ALWAYS an ultimate and ALWAYS has a high cost to the champion's power budget.

Two of them (Malzahar & Warwick) are easy to interrupt, put the caster in danger for a channeled effect, and have their entire kits centered around the suppression lasting its full duration. Malzahar needs to ult you in his puddle to actually kill you. He can poke and hurt you, but you can get away every single time if he doesn't ult you. Warwick is incredibly easy to kite and needs his ult to get you lose enough to activate his W movespeed so he can actually kill you.

Skarner can move you a little bit, and pays heavily for it because the rest of his kit is extremely subpar and he's even easier to kite than Warwick because his movespeed not only ramps up(which is laughable) but is tied to a shield that is removed in 1 hit from anything trying to kite him.

Urgot just needs a rework, I won't bother with him tbh. He's just plain counter-intuitive.

tl;dr suppressions are always ults and are too expensive to a champion's kit to get negated by a cheap item. If your ADC and mid but a QSS it's basically a 4v5 if you have these champions on your team.

You know what would be hilarious?

And by hilarious I mean terrifying.

If Malz' Ult opened a Void portal and a bunch of tentacles knockup the target for two and a half seconds. Would probably deal bonus damage to Annie or something.

Realized my comment had nothing to do with the actual point of the post, if anyone saw it never speak of it to anyone, please. lol..

Cozarkian1 votes

When it was just QSS which isn't an end-game item, I would absolutely disagree. But now that there is the mercurial scimitar, I do feel bad for these rarely if ever seen chams.

Marthian1 votes

Because said suppression effects outside of QSS HAVE NO COUNTERPLAY in duels. It's a instant duel winner and in team fights if nothing goes wrong, you are just dead.

If QSS no longer removes suppression, then ALL suppression effects need to have a way to dodge them (skill shot, dash, something.) For you it may suck for your ult to be negated, but it sucks more for the other person who can't even avoid the suppression in the first place because it's a click skill.
