The new fighter items feel out of place.

The term "bruiser" is a very vague spectrum between a fighter and a tank. A fighter tends to build a couple of sustain damage items, followed by a full AD build. (Yasuo, Fiora) A Tank tends to build full defence. Maybe one offensive item is allowed. (Sion, Mundo) A Bruiser usually just builds 2-3 pure offensive items, and 2-3 pure defensive items.

But the new bruiser items are simply a mix of damage and health. Are they meant to fill in the hole for the (should I build defence or offence for my sixth item slot)?

The items feel a tad contradictory, particularly Titanic Hydra. Bruisers that usually build Ravenous probably won't stop building Ravenous, and Tanks that could use that extra bit of scaling health damage, probably don't auto attack a lot. Am I missing something? Who does Gage and Titanic Hydra go well with

Oh wow, didn't think about that. Auto attack focused bruisers who do well building defensively and have good AS steroids. It might also work for Udyr as well. (though he can build other things.)

Think of them more as options, rather than expecting people to substitute their defensive items with them.

however, if your definition of Bruiser is a 50/50 split of offenses and defenses, then I would probably say they weren't meant for Bruisers, but for the Juggernauts.

And the thing with Bruiser items is that they do a ton of damage on their own accord. Tri force for example doesn't scale well later into the game because it only procs on your base AD. But if that's the only AD item you're getting, then it doesn't need to scale and works well with defensive items.

And I say these new items are for Juggernauts because they are likely going to be the only offensive item they will get. and it works because it scales with the other defensive items. But unlike Tri force, it actually needs to scale, so the point where you build it is completely different. Likely I would consider it a 4th or 5th item.

gage increases base ad and therefore sheen damage, for once. nasus would love the item for example, as it grants health and increased ad + more powerful sheen procs.

titanic hydra is going to be strong on a bunch of champions. sion, and shen just to name two. probably also nasus, because health with even more on hit damage why not? and it synergizes with his ult.

voli would definitely like both items with triforce.

and titanic hydra + steraks seems to be apretty good on darius from what ive seen. his w + hydra active deals close to 1000 damage lategame with those bruiser items.

edit.: actually, holy shit. the big hydra active deals a good 500 damage with a tanky build by lategame. combine that with a nasus q and you have a recipe for hilarity.
