Bard Guide For Peeps Doing Bad
It seems a LOT of people are having issues with bard on their team. So I figured i'd make this thread so everyone can throw in their advice for him. Personally I find him great and have had a lot of sucess with him.
First off Bard is NOT damage dealer. A lot of people keep trying to build him ap when that's just not going to do it. He isn't meant to burst so stop trying to force him to. CDR and MS are the two best stats you'll get on this guy build that.
Starting off: Start with coin or spelltheif's NEVER start with relic. Ever. Another thing for starting off. START WITH W A the start of the game go top and set a heal shrine then set one mid and move down to set one for your jungler. COLLECT THE CHIMES AS YOU DO THIS. By time you get to lane you'll be back to full/close to full mp and you'll be up on exp compared to anyone else. You WILL hit level 2 before the other people in the lane you can just harass with autos at the start. Your jungler should have taken the healing shrine after the first camp so then you set one in your lane for your adc. ONLY SET ONE that way your top/mid laners wont disappear
Laning phase: ROAM. Around 8 or so minutes (unless the lane is super passive) your top/mid have most likely taken their shrine. Set 3 down in lane for your adc then leave. Go pick up your chimes. Ward the enemy jungle and go pressure the other lanes. You should spend at LEAST 2-3 minutes away from your adc as you roam. This gives them a level advantage on the enemy adc as well as keep them sustained with the shrines. A lot of bards I see just sit in lane and babysit their adc. Stop doing that. He's not made to babysit the adc. Play Sona if you wanna do that
Mid game: You should have a ton of chimes by now. You should be able to go around and stay moderately safe anywhere. Bards don't usually do anything but stick to grabbing chimes and ignore everything else at this point. PREPARE TO TAKE OBJECTIVES. Go around and set some healing shrines up near objectives like drag/baron or in a lane you're all getting ready to siege. Note: YOU CAN still insta-heal someone even with 3 shrines up without making one disappear. Stop playing your chime minigame and get your butts in gear
Late game: You should be at 40% cdr and over 450 MS by now. Go around and ward. Kill wards. Get your chimes if you can. You have to be keeping your eye out on EVERYTHING at this point. Every ability in your kit can decide the game in an instant. You need to be aware of everything as well as be everywhere(hypothetically) by that I mean you need to be speeding across the rift like crazy. I'm not saying put everyone on your back BUT you can single handedly decide a game with a single ability in your kit. Not a lot of champs have that capability.
This guide isn't in huge detail just giving some tips on how to manage him throughout the game. If you have anything to add or any advice at all just put it here
