Spell shields

So saw the info on the update about these things. This is really kind of a Sona issue, or any champion who has multiple spell abilities that can go off simultaneously, but why is it that spell shields block all parts of these abilities? I understand why 's black shield can do this. But why can Sivir negate all of the damage from a Q bolt + empowered AA + powercord, with a single spell shield (assuming they all land simultaneously). Yes i know the basic physical damage gets through, i mean the three different sources of magic damage.

Because no matter how weak or strong the skill, Sivir's shield will be gone after taking one hit. Morgana's shield on the other hand has a certain amount it can block and also increases with ap, therefore it can block as much skills as possible before the shield amount is either over or broken.

You didn't answer the question i posed. It would be one thing if Sivir's ability blocked the bolt but not the follow up magic damage, it would be one thing if it blocked the magic damage from the on hit effect. But the fact that it blocks ALL of it, the fact that it blocks what is essentially 2-3 different sources is what i have issue with.

Oh, okay. Sorry, I misunderstood, I just went back and reread it. That has been an issue for a few years now actually. No idea why Riot isn't doing anything about it though. I think it was something about the animation of her shield popping is taking longer than it's suppose to be. So all spells within a brief time are all blocked by her shield.

Clarity, ease of use, intuitively working how everyone thinks it's going to work, coding, etc.

i'll take coding and ease of use, as the probable answers. I don't think it should block multiple effects just because they happen to all hit withing a very small window. But i can also understand that, that might be hard to program around.

A sub question might be. Assuming multiple different characters hit Sivir with different abilities; let's say an Ashe ult, Cho's ground spikes, and a Zigg bomb. If they all hit within that tiny window, would they all fail to connect?
