I think I have a pretty good idea for Deaths Dance.

So currently you get 75 AD, 10% cdr and this unique passive that gives you AD spell vamp, and you take delayed damage. I personally think this item is pretty cool, but i think its in a pretty bad spot for a number of reasons.

The AD is good, the CDR is good, put the passive doesn't really synergize with the other stats it gives. Making it pretty hard to utilize on most if any champions. Generally speaking, there are better options.

The high AD value with its 10% CDR is very appealing for caster ADs such as Riven Illaoi Rengar JarvanIV MonkeyKing Renekton Talon Zed Darius Khazix RekSai LeeSin and so on... The problem is not all the champions can effectively fit this 3500 gold item into their build without giving up something else they significantly need.

Example: Darius Renekton RekSai Could really love this item, however for 3500, they lack the HP the other items could give them instead for either the same price or cheaper.

Example2:Zed Khazix Rengar Like the AD and CDR, but they lose out on armor pen or crit, and furthermore, have a hard time utilizing half of the passive because they use all their spells up front to kill their target, so they can't easily utilize the "ad vamp"

Basically, the item to me tries to sound appealing to way too many champions thus being nearly useless on them all given better options for their gold.

My suggestion is to make it more fitting for the bruiser class since the passive seems to favor their play-style more than that of an assassin. To do this, I suggest changing the build path up to: item 3052 +item 1053+ item 3133 The total cost would remain at 3500 however the combined cost would be lowered to 300. It would be on par with item 3071 @ 300HP 55 AD 10% and the unique passive would stay the same.

I strongly feel this would make the item more viable in a lot of these champions builds than the way it sits now. Let me know if you agree or disagree and why. I'm quite curious to see how others feel about it.

And the only MARKSMAN that uses it is Graves and even he tends to opt for other items.

Edit: I also recall them talking about this item being used on casters such as Riven, so I don't think this items only intended purpose was to be built on ADCs.

graves also wasn't inteded to be a jungler :-D

My point is .. it is not designed fo the champs you mentioned ... don't expect to be 100% fitting. If you think you want it - buy it otherwise leave it.

Lifesteal as a stat for champions that primarily use abilities has always been an interesting space to work in, but often failed because the 'casters' in question lack the inherent durability to really start draining and instead just die on the spot. Death's Dance instead provides 'pseudo-durability' - just enough to give the user time to get their sustain engine going, but forcing that lifesteal to work overtime so as not to succumb to their accumulated debt. Can you outrace your own death, or will you just dance around it?

Pretty sure this backs up my argument enough to say they DID intend it to be used on a lot of the champions i listed.

Tbh though, its pretty god-like on Darius. Black cleaver/Deaths Dance/ Spirit visage - Q ? Q? Q? You also left out half of its passive "Allows the target to take % of all dmg taken as a bleed instead of flat dmg." Which makes some champions appear more 'bulky' and reduces how fast they can be 'bursted'

This, is the "Defensive" Side of the item. you might say "It's not a GOOD defense." It's pretty good tbh.

This is taken straight from the wiki Death's Dance item.png Death's Dance's is intended for attack damage casters who mostly deal physical damage. It's best used when looking for an aggressive sustain item, with the advantage over life steal that its sustain passive isn't restricted to auto attacks only. Generally for melee champions, lifesteal is most needed if the enemy champion is in possession of strong poke. At the same time as lifesteal helps you sustain this damage though, it forces you to auto attack minions, putting yourself into the poke range of the enemy. As such, unless you can outsustain the poke, the lifesteal itself might be rendered useless. By granting spellvamp on abilities on the other hand, Death's Dance item.png Death's Dance allows you to regenerate while minimizing the enemy's window to poke. As Death's Dance item.png Death's Dance's spellvamp component is reduced for area of effect abilities , this component is most useful when mainly dealing single target damage. Death's Dance item.png Death's Dance second passive has to be judged critically, as its bleed will interrupt channels that are interrupted by damage (e.g. Recall.png Recall or Tag Team.png Behind Enemy Lines ), and delay abilities that are delayed by damage (e.g. Twitch Twitch's Ambush.png Ambush). This unique passive's usage is best realized, when looking at a simplified situation where an opponent inflicts instant burst damage onto you. By transforming 15% of the incoming damage into a damage over time effect, it is equal to a HP multiplicator of e.g. 11.8% or 5.9%. As a result, your opponent has to overkill you to actually finish you off within this time span, which slightly increases your time to react and deploy counter measures like shields or heals. At the same time it also slightly improves your time window for retaliation, and is as such most powerful in a fight between two assassins. Regardless, it's important to not overestimate this unique passive's influence, as most assassinss generally overkill an opponent, and as such aren't hindered by slightly increased HP.

Wordy Af. But you get the idea.

Yeah i didn't talk about the bleed part because it kind of a given when i said "unique passive" but i agree, it sounds good in theory, but for 3500 Darius could buy better items. Thats my point, is there is always something better for your Gold.
