I played Zed myself after hating him for so long, and I've gotta say his gameplay is very rewarding, he is in fact well designed and he is fun to play. However, his numbers are quite a bit overtuned. I think all he really needs is a slight early game tweak, simply reduce his Q's damage.

He might need a couple of tweaks, but I personally think he should keep his Q damage early since his team fight against utility champs is horrendous so he is reliant on getting kills in lane. His Q only really hurts if he gets a direct hit, his Q damage through minions is quite weak (and outright pathetic against anyone who sucked it up and rushed an armguard)
