Why is our beloved Elise still banned so much?
:< i just want to play her top.

Anytime Elise is strong enough to insta kill someone at 50% hp early game she goes back to perma ban mode.
The point and click executes/spider bomb on top of a stun skillshot make her extremely potent.
Exactly what a real spider does, hunt and kill.
People don't read patch notes.
You play Elise top!? That's amazing omg.
Anyways, are you talking about before the nerf to her Q, or after?
Before, her Q did an insane amount of damage; 8% of a target's health!!! It was ridiculous, and the one thing that's supposed to be relatively difficult for her (Which would be snowballing) was made easy, thus making her pick/ban. You would not believe how threatening a snowballing Elise is O.O.
After they nerfed her Q? I'm honestly not sure. It was a REALLY hard nerf; now her Q only does 4% current health damage, instead of 8, so if you're telling me that in draft pick/ranked that they still ban her, shit I honestly don't know. If that Q nerf wasn't enough to make her fair to fight against then I fear for the worst; more nerfs for her in the future, and she'll once again become worthless in the jungle.
Even pre-nerf her Q has been the same for quite some time, before she was strong in fact its been nerfed twice before. Shitters just dont realize they need to build MR against her and it severely cripples her.
For whatever reason people just cant stand to let elise be remotely strong without bitching, probably because they've never played her to learn her weaknesses.
You know, honestly I have to agree. I always wonder why people tend to complain about her, out of all the junglers being OP. There's Diana. She's so annoying to go against when she snowballs, and believe me, she can snowball pretty easily. There's Shyvana. With Devourer, I'm pretty sure that it's a known fact; you cannot beat her. No shit. There's Udyr. Once again, with Devourer, you cannot stop him. You have to ignore him, and push midlane, but a lot of people don't think about doing this. There's Master Yi. So many people struggle with him, and I mean yes, I see complaints every once in a while. But not anywhere near as often as I see nerf Elise threads. I simply don't understand it.
Couldn't have said it better. There were much larger problems than elise before this patch, namely the ones you mentioned, and look who gets shit on right before worlds.
Elise's damage is a lot better early but falls off late game, Diana can hardly do anything before level 6
Not enough time for the new patch to sink in yet. Her winrate is already down to 50% but its gonna take some time before people flock to a new priority ban in the jungle. It seems Ranked players are still banning what the see in the lcs as opposed to whats seeing success in solo q. Shyv is already starting to see a higher ban rate than elsie this patch,on champion.gg. Give it time for that to trickle down, as soon as high elo players stop banning her everyone else will follow.
People aren't so quick to forget cancer.
There are others champions who are more cancerous than Elise.
Which a priori means you are admitting Elise is/was cancer.
The point I will grant. At the moment.
There are different stages of cancer my friend.
She was in remission. Then Rito metastasized her some buffs. At which point she started spreading her broken ass through the body politic again.
Then there's the recent nerf, so it appears a combination of chemo and treatment (i.e. bans) have been keeping her from metastasizing any further.
Someones salty. If all you can say is broken or cancerous without any legit bases.
See ya. O/
In case you can't tell, I'm stretching the metaphor.
And all cancers aside, playing against Elise just isn't all that fun.

A ton of people don't find playing against Riven fun. She's also got an insanely high pick rate. I don't see why that makes a difference at all.
Do people ban Riven in your games y/n?
