Both have insanely fast and easy stun combos that destroy you in seconds
Hell, even Vel and Lux have this amount of burst that fast
Why the focus on Veigar specifically?
Why not make R a skillshot and just make Es stun shorter instead of super delayed?

annie has limited range, so she only gets to burst the enemy carry once he walks in her range, thats some counterplay on the other hand brand has longer range but requires a set up, meaning that any skill he casts is a warning to dodge a skillsot, that way his cc can be unreliable
pre nerf veigar had both long range and didnt give you that reaction time, so when you comparing him to annie and brand his stunn had all the good traits without those big drawbacks
ofc it was a cage but once you got used to it you could use it as a point and click stun
well they are already buffing him back, because lets face it the stunn was only thing that allowed his kit to work, but the reason behind nerfing his stunn without touching the rest isquite valid

Not a SINGLE champion you said has such single target burst potential as veigar. They have safer or easier ways to burst , but definetely , not more. Also, brand combo is not easy to do. Seriously, don't complain about brand. About annie idgaf

His combo is so easy to land if you smart cast it and the aoe is just straight up crazy good

Now lets look at Veigar. Hes got a mass aoe stun that can stun multiple people at once and block off entire areas, a target based super nuke ult that will one shot an ap carry, and his Q that was a targe based nuke in of itself. See the problem?

They nerfed him because people dont understand that u need a tank to get into his face and kill him before the ADC or mid mage can safely enter the midst of the team fight. Well a tank or an instant kill ADC with 1 magic resist item lol typicall will live the ulti but not ulti Q in most cases depending on the items they got and what champion it is.

Firancil1 votesThe biggest issue with Annie stun is when it's used with her ult, when used with tibbers it turns into an instant AOE burst stun with no warning as to where it'll hit so it's next to impossible to dodge unless you preempt it, not exactly easy to dodge something you can't see coming and no, that little mist around her doesn't cut it since she can sit on 3 stacks, press E to ready the stun and instantly press R to tibbers stun before people even see the mist, and sure you can check her stacks, but can you trust the rest of your team to check them too?
At least you can actually see Brand trying to stun you and dodge accordingly, not to mention how out of position you need to be for it to hit you during the laning phase when you have minions to protect you, again, Annie's tibber's stun has no warning, at least brand is kind enough to make his stun able to be dodged.
