Why Season 3 was Better
My top 10 reasons for thinking so:
- We knew who we had to target in order not to get killed in 3 seconds during a teamfight-- either the assassin/mage or the ADC.
- The only for-sure ban every game was Kassadin; there wasn't a list of 8 champions that needed to be banned while only 6 got to be.
- "Juggernaut" didn't mean a negligibly immobile sustained Fighter with more damage and more healing than a bruiser. (Or if it did, it wasn't a problem because the only juggernaut stayed in his lane the whole game and didn't mess with anyone)
- 4 man ganks bot were rare because the Dragon didn't give an overwhelming advantage to one side.
- Lollipoppy was still terrifying.
- DFG was still an item. Albeit it was broken, but now anyone who listens to the song will be sad. -- included under removed items would be Atma's, SoTO and SoTD.
- Mordekaiser was numero uno without having to be duo.
- Early game wards lasted long enough to see an invade.
- I got to be hyped about Yasuo because I'm a weeb.
- The JoJ was still canon.
Saving Graces of the current game (which may or may not have been introduced in the past year):
- There are so many banworthy champions that you're almost guaranteed to have one of them on your team, for better or for worse.
- Poppy is cute as hell. Definitely gonna pay full price for Star Guardian even though I already own Lollipoppy and BR. Tristana is also no longer a potato.
- The new lore is actually being worked on.
- Taric. Yorick. Gangplank. Ryze.
- DFG is no longer an item. lol
- Everyone gets free wards.
- Roll-calling was removed, though the system still isn't perfected.
By no means do these make up for what's been messed up since season 3, but they are good points that I can't just outright ignore.
