How Stat Bonuses SHOULD work with Runes Reforged

Hey Riot, you seem to be having some trouble getting stat bonuses down with the tree selection.

Let me help you out.

For every rune you select in a given path, you gain a small bonus. For each Keystone selected, you gain DOUBLE that bonus. (except for inspiration, as thats a special case! See below!)

As below:

For each Precision rune selected: Gain +4% bonus attack speed Precision Keystone = +8% bonus attack speed. (Full path = +20% bonus attack speed)

For each Sorcery rune selected: Gain +4 bonus ability power or 3 bonus attack damage (adaptive) Sorcery Keystone = +8 bonus ability power or 6 bonus attack damage (adaptive) (Full path = +20 ability power or + 15 attack damage (adaptive))

For each Domination rune selected: Gain +3 bonus ability power or 2 bonus attack damage (adaptive) Domination Keystone = +6 bonus ability power or 4 bonus attack damage (adaptive) (Full path = +15 ability power or + 10 attack damage (adaptive))

For each Resolve rune selected: (LOOK - BALANCE!) Gain +10 health and 1 armor and magic resist Resolve Keystone = +20 bonus ability power and 2 armor and magic resist (Full path = +50 health and 5 armor and magic resist)

For each Inspiration rune selected: Gain +2% health & mana regeneration Inspiration Keystone = Duration of all potions increased by 20% (Full path = +6% health and mana regeneration and duration of all potions increased by 20%)

See? easy peasy. You could start opening it up by letting us take a single rune in a 3rd path as well. [katarina-love]

This isn't a bad idea imo, but let's take it further. Instead of having the same stat bonuses for all runes of a type in a tier, make different runes in the same tier have different stat bonuses. Things like zombie ward could have the least stat bonus, while other options give more or different ones. This gives us more decisions to make, and is a way to balance some of the choices on more dimensions.

While I like the concept, I think this might get a bit too complicated for new players. The above strategy keeps things simple enough that just about ANYONE can grasp it at a glance, and it has a lot more strategic diversity than whats currently being offered.

It's even possible to do away with paths entirely and let players cherry pick any keystone they want along with 5 runes from any path. Though Riot seems against player freedom these days.

I don't think that's terribly complicated to be honest, and new players will either not care about min maxing and pick what sounds cool and have fun, or the ones that have a tendency to min max in video games shouldn't have much trouble understanding what's going on. I think the benefits would outweigh the costs

I think you should be able to take your 2 extra runes from any other path, not just two from the same parth. I want Approach Velocity on Ashe but I'd rather take an extra rune from Domination/Sorcery than a second inspiration one.

That's probably more feasible and better than adding an extra rune, at this point. Champion power is already pretty nuts currently. Being able to slip into Domination for Ghost Ward as a support while still taking 1 or 2 runes in Resolve would be absolutely killer
