Technically speaking Attack Damage Carry can be any attack damage champion, not necessarily marksman. Marksman is a class.

Yeah. People just refuse to call them marksmen.

fixed, but people still say that marksmen is a role

Bot is a lane, not role or class, but you still see it called in Blind. GG

in case you forgot it, riot decides the game. If they didn't write ADC but bot lane in role selection. It means that league doesn't have a role called ADC

but since ADC is the strongest class botlane, they have 100% playrate bot and thus people say ADC instead of botlane

hence, ADC isn't a role but a class, they are just the dominant class botlane in this meta still not a role

Why are coming at me? I wasn't trying to discredit your post, just merely say that "Bot" is called some times in Blind. "Bot" stands for Bottom Lane where there are two roles adc(usually a marksmen) and support. I understand that Marksmen is the class that dominantly takes the role of adc.

My op was meant to be a "things are crazy, I feel ya" type vibe. Sorry if it missed the mark.

ADC stands for Attack Damage Carry, which refers to champions who primarily use auto-attacks to secure objectives (in parricular structures).

Marksmen are just ranged auto-attackers that have better kiting potential due to being ranged.

For example, Yi, Tryn, and even good old AD Shaco can be ADCs despite being melee because they are just good at dealing sustained damage to structures. On the other hand, Teemo is a Marksman despite being mostly AP and thus ability based

Its pretty much a role imo because no one plays anything else in it.
