Mortal Reminder

Just title. Inflicts Grievous wounds. An enemy with lifesteal can likely heal more than the bonus damage dominik's would give you. An enemy with lifesteal, visage, and a healer definitely will.

Buy dominik's if the enemy team has tanks with no healing. Buy Mortal Reminder otherwise. AP allies can't provide much help with Morello if the enemy is never below 40% HP to begin with.

Vladimir main here, can confirm, that item is the cancer that kills AIDS.

That's why Vlad has such a good, safe early game. The champion who really gets screwed by it is Swain, who doesn't have lane phase healing until the lane phase is almost over, and even that is at a high mana cost.

Grievous wounds screws over every sustain champ that doesn't deal burst damage. Unless they're fed it pretty much turns them into a free kill. I may be alone in this, but for how hard it counters some champions, GW shouldn't be allowed to be on a good item. The person purchasing GW should have to make a sacrifice in their build for it, like they did in the past (i.e. old Executioner's Calling/Morello's Evil Tome).

This^, "just buy morellos and well be fine in teamfights" no, they have to be almost dead. vs mortal reminders immediate grievous wounds

Yeah. And if the enemy you need the GW passive for is already fed, there's not a chance in hell they'll ever get below 40% health anyway-- especially if their support is a healer.

Mortal Reminder is probably broken tbh

The grevious wounds fucks over a lot of non-tanks which defeats the purpose of the item (supposed to be good vs tanks)

It screws over anybody with lifesteal/healing/sustain which includes tanks, bruisers, adcs, supports, pretty much everybody except some mages, as even vlad/swain getfkd

Admittedly, the grievous wounds shouldn't be on an armor-ignoring item. It should just be an AD item, as Dominik's does exist for the purpose of killing tanks with no healing.

I think 45% bonus armor pen + grievous wound on the same item is a bit broken as it makes champs who are countered by Nasus Illaoi Vladimir Warwick and Fiora no longer countered by them.

I agree it shouldn't be on a penetration item, but champions who are countered by those champions specifically need all the help they can get. In all cases against those 5, it's a hard counter.

Such cancer, but you use what you have. I feel dirty whenever I buy it.

I just think they should buff LDR. MorReminder just completely outclasses it 80% of the time (Don't Quote me)

The 15% bonus damage only happens against tanks, and you can't assassinate tanks. Even the assassin should get Mortal because their target is supposed to be the enemy ADC-- who now buys Bork because it's viable again.

To be honest I feel LDR is generally better than Mortal Reminder, only time grievous wounds is useful is against hype self healing champs and super fed aa-centric ad champs. Grievous wounds is very situationally useful against champs that self-heal for butt loads, and not every add prefers life steal, and even if they do it's only worth it if they are fed. You are more likely able to use LDR passive than grievous wounds simply because it only affects self-heals and does nothing to outside heal sources like Soraka heal.

Edit: wait sorry looked at the change log and seems I missed the 6.9 change to grievous wounds. Either way both do their jobs as intended LDR for tanks, and Mortal Reminder for heavy sustain.

Tthe 15%-- and that's only a full 15% if you buy no defense at all-- isn't much unless the enemy has absolutely no source of healing whatsoever. But even if the only person with lifesteal is the enemy ADC with Bork, it'll still be better to buy Mortal Reminder because it's currently the only finished item in the game that can apply GW consistently. My point was that Morelly on your team's mage can't match up, since it doesn't actually have that passive 60% of the time.
