Kindred mains are spoiled children who truly believe Kindred was on a balanced side on a release, and since that she's 100% weak and useless

I still have a nightmares about kindred invading me lvl 2 with red only, and her having the best kiting, scaling, invading and chasing from all the junglers. Kindred kit is SO unhealthy, and it should stay on a weak side, despite mains crybabying

At Least she has to hit her abilities, can't say that about most assassins lol

Tormentula8 votes

You mean her auto targeting W, and a point blank charm + r?

Atleast assassins have to go pretty balls in to do something, ahri can do that if she wants, but she can also force a kill from a distance too. Mage+assassin doesn't make her a healthier assassin, just means she has two options while most assassins have 1 (go in). Shes no talon but she's not a healthy design either way.

wildfox9917 votes

try to charm point blank someone in teamfight and see if you don't get chain CC'd

her W damage is really low (140 + 30% AP when maxed,224 + 48% AP vs a single target) and her R deals 120 damage when maxed (360 at lvl 16 base damage for an ultimate),you will never be able to kill someone with just R W R R not even with 800+ AP

Yeah, no. Assassins have a much riskier playstyle than Ahri does. Having skillshots isn't anything special.

There is no risk to hitting 2 abilities and an AA, throwing down and ignite then teleporting away. Ahri is required do more then just hit her skill shot, she has to invest EVERYTHING into getting a kill.

Assassin's don't have to hit all their abilities, they don't have to invest much to get the kill, their power spike is 1/2 and item, and her dashing away is her ult; theirs is their W/E.

Note: also look at the CD or her ult compared to theirs...

What kind of assassin are you even talking about? The only assassin I can think of that fits that description is Katarina, but at least Katarina takes skill.

Escapes: Zed: W/R Talon: E/R (Q with minons) Katrina: E (W for increased movement speed) Akali: W/E/R (she can pick with the rework xD) Fizz: E (Also Q with minions) LB: W/Passive/R Zoe: W/R (She's not exactly and assassin, but some consider her to be because she can assassinate) Shaco: Q/R Kha'Zix: E/R WuKong: W (Q with a minion wave)

Naturally some of these may have been used for engage, but that's still a LOT of low CD escape even without the odd R in there lol.

what are you talking about? almost all assassins have a way to get out a fight, sometimes even with basic abilities

Leblanc W /R(W) Evelynn R Zed R Talon R/E Ekko R . . . and so on

most of them even blinks and/or become untargetable and doesn't have to wait 1 sec for dashing

Her kit is extremely binary and she's really easy to deal with. That's why she's rarely banned and bad in high elo.

She had ~49% winrate.

Also no one wanted the charm buff. It was a gsrbage buff to make her a more strong support. It is like having 2 sups in the team.

How wasn't she a viable pick? Mains had above a 56% winrate with her in plat+. She was fine, great at getting picks and okay at trading in lane with charm. Just because her old q + auto thunderlord's trading pattern is gone doesn't mean she is weak, just different.

To be fair, Ahri mains call their main trash so that they feel like they deserve special treatment for their champ from Riot.

Just about every mains community does this.

I do think they deserve special treatment. She was reworked when she was fairly balanced and season 4 and that caused her to get huge number of nerfs and today she still didnt at all get reverted to her balanced time.

She also had high popularity even when she was balanced. But because of rework her kit just got destroyed.

Id even call her olaf'd.

Kanan Matsuura8 votes

Ahri main here. https://i.imgur.com/qWY9Boe.png TF has a much higher pick rate, and less than 1% difference in win rate. Why are we complaining about Ahri? Not flaming, just genuinely curious why TF can go under the radar for patches upon patches but every single time Ahri gets in the spotlight, it's like she's the most overbearing champion the game has ever seen. Her charm buff didn't fix any of her weaknesses that hold her back from being a top tier pick, and people just don't seem to be able to know what a sidestep is.

Melledoneus4 votes

Ahri isn't as intuitive to play against as TF during laning phase for many.

Her Q is too fast for most laners to sidestep early on. Her W doesn't have any real way to play against it when she activates it. Her E is an abrupt CC that jerks your control away and even moves your character toward Ahri. Naturally it makes you a little more irritated than TF's gold card.

TF's laning phase, meanwhile, is a bit more readable. His Q is about weaving between two cards. His W is easy to read unless it is snap casted, and you can walk out of the danger zone if you're casually last hitting creeps. TF's ult also announces itself, so you can prepare for his TP.

It's less about who's strong and more about who feels better to play against.

Nagoooyin2 votes

I mean playing against Twisted Fate isn't that fun either. I've been seeing a few grasp tf's in diamond lately, and it's really frustrating to play against. He's too tanky to kill, he has a point and click stun, he does a surprising amount of damage even if he only has catalyst, and you can't outroam him because he gets free roams with his ulti.

I am bIack7 votes

won't lie, i strongly dislike that champion for a specific reason.

Sometimes it feels like utter shit trying to punish her. Her R is up consistently, so any focus on her or desire to kill her generally results in a failed attempt as she just flies away. And.. the availability of it is honestly pretty good. So.. essentially every "teamfight" her ultimate is brimming.

And yeah, her E now later on is really a pain - but it was always a pain.. but not as much as her hugely safe playstyle that makes punishing her a bit annoying (unless her r is down).

call it hate, it is hate. I hate that champion for her level of safety.

Just my thoughts. AurelionSol

RainXBlade2 votes

I agree with you. Ahri's level of safety is just stupidly high. Everytime Ahri hits 6, this is what happens:

Le me wanting to go in Ahri drops to 50% HP "Hurr durr, let me dash 3 times back into tower range" Boom, I just wasted cooldowns and even my ignite for that

And if I get too low from engaging her, she'll just waste another dash and unload her kit and then dash back to safety.

The worst part is that her R has almost 100% uptime during the laning phase. The only realistic way you can catch off Ahri is by running Frozen Mallet on someone like Yi, or blowing her up the second she uses her dash (which is pretty impossible, considering that once she uses up her 1st dash, expect the next 2 dashes to be used to get away or juke abilities really fast.)

What I'm trying to emphasize here is that Ahri has too much safety and doesn't even sacrifice an inch of damage for it. Some of that safety has to go if people want to actually play against her and not just rely on letting her pop her 3 dashes that decides on who lives and who dies.

Maybe .4 seconds was a bit much. Maybe lvl 1 E should start at 1.25 seconds.

But either way, I don't understand exactly why this small buff was enough to swing her winrate by 3%. There are many buffs each patch that are stronger and more drastic than this ahri buff is, but they never see a winrate swing this big.

I know that a .4 second buff is really high but I really just don't see how it can take her from lower half of the pack to 2nd best mid in the game (according to champion.gg) I mean when Power of Evil picked her in the LCS recently he literally was just a charm bot for the entire game. The only thing he did was charm aatrox while he was in his ult to keep him from running too far before the ult wore off.

ExcessiveProtest5 votes

This always happens when Ahri gets utility. It doesn't make sense, but it never fails. As much as people complain if her damage ever goes up, any time she gets a utility buff, her winrate jumps disproportionately. It's the same as 5.2: she was mediocre before it, then when they removed DFG, they compensated by removing her Charm amp too, and adding Q's homeguard effect. Winrate should have gone down, instead we get 57%, at the time the tenth highest in League history, including Beta, from that one effect. Then came the Gangplank and Fiora reworks, and the advent of Class Updates, and 57% stopped being impressive.

Now it's the same deal: she was underpowered after they removed the speed and added Charm amp back, so they made a couple minor Quality of Life changes to Charm; the increased duration was meant solely to help land Q's return, since players would rather put points into E to help Q than level her underpowered W. Suddenly she's in the upper tiers of Midlane. Could be the nerfs to bruisers, her most hated class, amplifying the issue, but since she actually appeared in pro play for once, expect nerfs to everything except Charm once Rito has a spare team.

Ionian Vulpix3 votes

She's an assassin with lower damage than other assassins in exchange for being safer and having hard CC.

She still functions most similarly to a mage.
