It's funny how in Ekko's trailer

He looked way more balance than he did in actual gameplay.

Infinite no CD ult so he can guarantee he will eventually win no matter what. Sure. WAY more balanced than what we have on live.

But in the video he didn't heal or cause damage. And he only went back to one place, so 2v1 him and always have one chasing while the other sits at his clone and whammo you got a kill.

He did heal though. Got his ass kicked, rewinds time and messes with his jaw to show he is still hurt but not as bad. He also killed the guy. Pretty sure that counts as 'caused damage'.

That was riot's hand-wave explanation, it's clear from the video he broke his arm (Crushed), and after rewinding, oh look, still broken arm. Not only that he only did a small amount of damage (cutting the tube) and had to rewind time again and again until he could cheese a killing strike, this is indicative of the fact he didn't do much damage, and his kill potential is based on waiting and stalling until the right opportunity comes up, rather the outright wrecking them.

I guess he did heal. It probably went in the way of, he goes back in time, injury never happened, but his brain still holds the pain as it holds his memories, and yeah. As for killing the guy, that wasn't due to his time-rewind, that was just him in general.

Ekko currently is balanced lol. I'd imagine that you just don't know how to dodge skillshot. Every single ability in Ekko's kit is avoidable except for his E.
There are more unbalanced champions on the rift.

Completely agree. His Q is incredibly easy to dodge if you're playing a ranged champion, and listening to audio queues alerts you to when he's using his W, which means you're getting ganked and/or about to go in deep and you need to run away.

You forgot to mention if you didn't dodge his Q, you automaticly die from his phase dive passive proc :)

It is not an instant 2 stacks unless you walk into it as it slows down and then goes back on the return, in which case that is your own fault. If you get hit by it when he first throws it, walk to the side, not behind it, so that you don't get hit by it when it goes back to him, avoiding both more damage (as it does more damage on the return than the initial throw) and a second stack.

If he still decides to go in on you via his e even though you only had less than two stacks on you, that means the passive hasn't activated yet, leaving you time to either get away or, if possible, punish him for it. His only real way to lock you down without additional assistance is to hit you with his w. So long as you have the audio up, you'll be able to hear him say something along the lines of "Think fast!" or "Watch out!", and although you won't be able to see where his w will end up, it's a big enough warning to let you know to back the hell away. His ultimate is even easier to dodge, as it's something you can see at all times once he can use it.

Yes, Ekko is pretty safe, but most ranged champs are able to do fairly well against him so long as they are mindful of his w and are able to dodge at least one of the stacks from his Q (Xerath is a painful counterpick for Ekko, and I recently beat Ekko with no problem as Ahri by dodging nearly every single q, or at least avoiding the second stack from it). When it comes to fighting, a lot needs to go right for Ekko for it to pay off.

TheRakkun3 votes

Yes, but the matter of the fact is his survivability is too much for someone with that much burst, you can't really stop him from gaining a massive shield, even if you dodge the stun, and if you manage to get him critical he can ult out of trouble and restore a huge chunk of his health to boot.

I Am Florg2 votes

Neither his survivability or his burst are actually that high lol

Lordofthepittt1 votes

So he is op for how safe he is, but somehow the community doesn't consider LB too safe for the amount of damage she does?

And btw, you CAN stop him from even using his ultimate. Stun him. Or suppress him. He is pretty vulnerable to CC such as that.

grLKQ9ma0o3 votes

Are you new? EVERYONE thinks Leblanc is too safe for the amount of damage she does. Literally everyone.

Lordofthepittt1 votes

No, I'm not new. And I'm aware of how many people dislike LB as well. However, the point was that people shouldn't complain about Ekko, who has completely dodgeable, relatively slow moving skillshots, when something like LB is roaming around literally killing people in seconds.

Just don't see why people are complaining about Ekko, when everything about him except for his E is easily avoided.

grLKQ9ma0o1 votes

"but somehow the community doesn't consider LB too safe for the amount of damage she does"

I'm just responding to that quote. The problem with Ekko is that while he's really readable, you can't catch him unless he is a complete idiot with his ult.

Basically, it just boils down to "Why should an assassin have over 2 seconds of AoE hard CC?" and, "How do you catch someone that can blink out and heal half their hp?"

Lordofthepittt1 votes

Like I said in my original post. CC is key to kill Ekko. Malzahar destroys him. Stuns destroy him. Silences would destroy him. He isn't very good against tanks, since they have so much health.

People keep complaining about how strong/op/overloaded he is, but honestly, all they have to do is counter pick him if its draft. If it isn't draft, just don't play like an idiot.

TheRakkun2 votes

But LeBlanc IS too safe.

Apollocliptic1 votes

even his E is avoidable, as he has to prime it first (like Vayne), simply back off when he does it and he's burned vital mana and his best escape/engage tool is on a long cd. He also has to consider using it on a minion instead, making it easier for you to poke him instead

Toa of Death1 votes

I saw all the complaints before I faced him myself, as Cho'Gath. He wasn't hard to beat at all. dodge the skillshot and try not to take too much damage and you're fine. Ekko can't do much if he can't get fed.

Raid Boss Morde3 votes

People just don't know how to play against him. Instead, they would rather whine/complain about how broken he is.

ayNigerianPrince6 votes

As much as I've seen people bitch about Ekko, I've had no problems with him. His q is extremely easy to dodge in lane, giving him pretty much no good form of harass(especially since mana cost is pretty high). Sure he has a lot of safety, and could use a few number changes (which are being worked on atm I believe), but he's pretty damn squishy so if you have any hard cc just lock him down and burst him. I'd much rather play against an Ekko than a Leblanc or Zed.

Oh man, I have read same comments about release Vayne, LB, Darius, Talon, Khazix, Rengar. All of them were "fine" for some really slim group of ppl. Apparently they weren't.

If you think that champion has to be unkillable while doing pentakill to be op you are wrong.

Not only his nerfs are on PBE, he will surely get more. On top of that he is at 75% ban list.

I didn't join until after the release of all of those you listed. :/ Closest thing I've seen to Ekko was on-release rek sai. But tbh, I cant even tell what your angle is on it.

He also ulted three times, and the ult was only successful once........that balance right there

Because Generic Piltover Goon was too smart to stand on the time clone. Unlike a lot of actual players.

because that champ was more op than ekko

Dataless1 votes

I really don't see how Ekko is this unstoppable menace everyone makes him out to be, and I've played against him a fair bit. His W is heavily telegraphed and he's just as vulnerable to summoner 3 and CC as every other assassin is. Yes he can train people down incredibly hard and has the potential for huge amounts of burst with enough setup from his team, but that's the thing, he needs setup from his team.

He's just new, and new is apparently scary for a lot of people.

Nuclear Panda1 votes

Ekko is pretty damn balanced if you ask me. And I feel like Annie is a pretty strong counter to him. The only problem is have with ekko is his snowballing potential. As soon as he gets like one or two kills, he gets rolling and his kills multiply by the minute. I feel like ekko is Leblanc and Diana's child. Diana is tankier and probably has stronger burst; Leblanc is safer and stronger burst. Ekko has little bits of both of them as in the utility of Diana and the safety mess of Leblanc but in return gets less burst. The only way he one shots is if he hits you with his ult, which is easy to dodge.

ChaosThief1 votes

I'm disappointed Riot didn't try the global rewind of the game. I mean, COME ON NOW.

TurquoiseYoshi1 votes

What's funny is that his ult was obviously meant to not heal, but then it did heal. Like, wtf?

Migrañaboy1 votes

Its funny how his little contraption reversed time for everyone, not just himself?

Dude could even rebuild structures in the teaser.

Imagine if he could ult to rebuild his towers.
