why is it that i can go on a win streak right before my promos hit, and then as soon as i get into them, i get afkers, feeders, dcers, or just trolls in general? why do we need a promotional series? isn't getting to 100 LP enough? why do we have to play/win 5-10 games to get into promos, and then be forced to win 2 more in a russian roullette of total BS? i hate bronze. i hate it. im better than bronze. i was silver 2 last season, play my provisionals this season, won 6 of them, and still got dropped in bronze 3. the difference between a silver and a bronze is not so large that i can carry every single game i get with impunity. the only difference between me and these bronzies i tend play or play with, is that they don't get the importance of objectives, chase tanks, focus on kills, or just outright feed.

i fucking HATE bronze with a passion.

A friend of mine failed his silver 4 promos 5 times. 2 promos he lost because of disconnects. His most recent one, he won his first game, lost his second to dc, asked me to help him on his 3rd. Again we have a dc on our team, and won a 4v5. It's sad that you have to win a 4v5 to actually climb ladders in ranked.

So I'm curious if you just get a promo at 100 LP why have leagues? Why not have the old system where you just have direct elo or mmr shown for your rank. Then if you get up to gold or something and you start playing worse and your elo/mmr drops you go right back down instead of sitting at 0LP in silver/gold/plat 5? I mean really, if the tiers don't have promos why have them instead of just a number for elo/mmr as your rank?

Dude promos are so much fun? The feeling of winning the last promo game of an epic series makes all the bad ones worth it. It feels alot more fun to climb the ladder with the promo games and it's a more intresting concept in my opinion.

Promos are there so you don't get stupid free pass to the next rank without a flooding of people who go from Bronze 1 to Silver V. The same can be said about Gold I - Plat V. Just deal with it.

which only influences statistics of the number of players in silver 5, which has zero bearing whatsoever with who you are grouped with and playing with. dont confuse MMR with leagues LP/ranking. the LP/ranking system is broken for many reasons. MMR works to most degrees.

I think that the point of promos is that players who get lucky winstreaks and are carryed in those games climb throught ranks just, because they were lucky. And if you deserve silver you will get to silver, stop complaning on your teammates and look at yourself and not others. You are the only constant factor in your games, nobody else

I have been in my Promos to plat 9 times(Within the last week....) It is incredibly annoying to win to into my promos to lose games now I main support so its significantly harder to "Carry"(don't give me that oh support carrying is easy just crush bot lane unfortunately the bot lanes I get against are normally smart enough to play the lane correctly) and its quite annoying that i can get to my promos so many times and lose them that many times and now when i get out of my promos i'm at like 55 lp....

sounds like you need a duo bubba, a diamond 3 told me the only way to get out of bronze is to duo Q...since he's diamond 3...i believe him :) So maybe Team Recruitment is where you need to be posting! GL!!!!

Um, not really I went from bronze 3 to silver 4 in less than a month I think because I just played a single champ in mid and top as often as I could and got way better on them. My win rate w/ my main is 65-70% and that is easy to carry yourself out of bronze. You may have to play a few promos a second or I think the worst I've had was having to do a series 3 times, but if you play consistently you'll get there easy. I generally win 20+ LP a match and the lowest I've ha is like 15 or 16 LP I think so it isn't that hard to get back to promos if you have a bad run in one.

I've done promos about 30 times now lmao. I win streak to promos, get murdered during them, win streak back up. Something wrong with this equation....

Yeah, you obviously pick terrible times to have win streaks lol. On a serious note there is a chance that you're on the cusp of the bracket in terms of skill and so when you hit promos it is hard to win. There is also an even bigger chance that you have struggled so much that you have a mental thing with it at this point and it is like test anxiety and you tilt in promos so even if you are better than the people you play you're so on tilt that it ruins your games. I have that issue with adc, I play it poorly so I tilt often and make stupid mistakes I wouldn't in other games. Try just relaxing and having fun in your promos and you may do better in them.

what? bronze is incredibly easy if you aren't terrible, or if you aren't playing on like 200 ping. if you are good enough, you will win your games, period. hell even in high elo games, if you are good enough you can win consistently. and those games are vs much more difficult opponents. but in bronze? like unless you are evenly matched with them, they are really easy to take advantage of.

and i wouldn't advise duo queuing honestly. not much good can ever come of it. if you are unable to function on your own then you need to just practice or get better internet or whatever.

Rank is half skill half luck. No matter how well you play on your own sometimes the game puts together a shit pile of a team for you while the enemy is far superior. I think b4 i hit my diamond promos i was on a massive winning streak, had around 59 win rate. Hit promos i lose 3 in a row . One of my promos had a D5 nasus who prolly didn't give a shit and fed cuz our jungler didn't come top enough. I seriously hate getting paired up with these D5s who think they're the shit now that they hit diamond. In the next one our trist just never connected 4v5 from start 20min ff. Third one i don't remember but it was just a pathetic 0-3 series. Ever since never got to promos again and i just took a break from rank.

I feel you here.

Was 1-0 in my promos, I was second pick, so decided to play ADC

Then 2 minutes later last pick insta locks Cait because he is ''tired of having to support shit ADCs''. He went full troll and went from lane to lane trying to piss us off.

I ended up going mid, Kassadin solo bot, and Cait Trynd top.

We ended up winning so badly that he wanted to add me after the game hahaha.

But yeah Promos are like the Walmarts of league. You don't know what the hell will happen, but you know you will see that one fucked up dude guaranteed.

To be honest look at the broader picture. First of all you got into a promo so that means that you are improving so that's a good thing. But don't worry about some games being filled with feeders etc just improve your own gameplay and if you play enough you will rise naturally.

it's just frustrating that even if i do amazing in game, it can all be ruined by an immature little kid who wants to ruin games if he doesn't get the role he wants. or kids who play too late at night, and mommy makes them quit mid match. or people with spotty internet connections that just dc.

Yes I know that's the thing that kinda sucks in soloq. You are helpless against some of the people you meet it's not really much you can do when that happens.

But still most of the games are quite enjoyable in my opinion and the good ones makes up for the bad ones.

I just started ranked this season and was placed in Bronze 2. A majority of my losses are due to trolls, afks and feeders. If I lose a fair game I don't mind, but if I lose to sometthing I can't control it's infuriating and it always seems to happen right before my promotion series.
