Matchmaking is a disaster this Season!

Smurfs and uneven games are the real reason why this game is SOO unfun and feels like coinflip right now! Its literaly frustrating and exhausting to grind through Plat. It has nothing to do with skill, its like gambling. After placement games i climbed to high Plat and ended at ~60% wr. Then i got mixed with fucking weird smurf and unranked teams for weeks and suffered (several 12-15 game losing streaks included). I dropped on Plat3 with 47% winrate:

And then after dozens of these weird games i managed to cripple into Dia after 4 attempts.

And now?... I fucking melt through Dia with almost no losses!

Wanna know why? #BECAUSE THERE ARE EVEN GAMES IN DIA! Idk. Maybe i am just lucky that i had no smurfs in my Dia games so far and Dia is just as fucked as the rest. But so far: No 90% smurfs. Just five Dia4 vs five Dia4 all around 50% - 60% winrate. And all of a sudden the game is fun again! It feels like you can win by playing good, like skill matters, like is should be, like it was before Season 9.

I dont know why Riot implement this trash matchmaking in lower elos and then they reset Dia+ and pretend that low elo is fine. Yeah i have faster Qeue times than S8 now. But i dont want 0-20 Second Queue times if the match balance is trash therefore! I would rather take back the 1:40 - 2:00 Queue time from eralier seasons but with more balanced games. It's martyrdom to play through low Elo.

Simple, the Smurfs are fighting each other for placement, while non-smurfs are what inhabit Diamond now. It seems like a trend. They get to Diamond, then start a new account so they can further their superiority complexes and try to get Diamond all over again.

Yeah high plat is for some reason overcrowded with smurfs this season.

I know your pain. If you go on winning streak then you receive something like:

Plat 2 - 45% win ratio Plat 2 - 40% win ratio Plat 3 - 55% win ratio Plat 4 - 49% win ratio You

VS

Gold 2 - 78% win ratio Plat 1 - 45% win ratio Gold 1 - 66% win ratio Plat 3 - 50% win ratio Plat 2 - 55% win ratio

For the matchmaking system this sound balanced but ... its not. Team 1 is going to lose in most of the times. I enjoyed a few games this season and all of them was when both teams had 50% -56% win ratio and were at the same tier (plat in my case).

All other games are ... easy to say - bullshit. Either we win so hard that it doesn't feel good or we lose so hard that it is tilting.

Those few games I played even when I lose I am thinking "Yea but we tried , it was intense, enemy deserved the win"

What pisses me off is that I know that Riot knows about this issue. They are just pushing it to see if it works. This started near the end of season 8. Before that playing at plat felt so good.

Pro tip: no one has any advantage over any other player because of their winrate.

But the chances that someone with 90% winrate is actually a Smurf from a much higher Elo and just on his way to his true Elo are pretty high. And if you have someone who has Master skills in a Plat1 game than he has an advantage for sure.

My duo was stuck in diamond 4 hell for like 2 months stuck playing against tons of smurfs. He made it to diamond 3 the other day but it's been a battle. The coinflip is real. I've only played one game at diamond so far so I can't really say anything about my experience. Not sure if things get better at diamond or if lucky matchmaking.

Did you read that post? I literally said that I had a 47% wr in Plat and since I am in Dia I am only winning. The "melting through" was related to the games in Dia not the overall winrate. I even posted a screenshot at the end where you can see that. When I have a negative winrate on 300 games it obviously doesn't change so fast when start winning again.

good for u :/ i had the exact opposite blatantly boosted accounts hard inting every game 5-18 last 23 games in diamond 4 now gaining 13 lp losing 25 :/ so that account can be thrown in the trash now no recovery

this 15 LP win and 20 LP loss is normal in Dia atm. Its the same for me although i only won.

no im winning 13 losing 25 cause im 6-19 in my last 25 games xd not once have i had a team where everyone had correct runes/builds. always someone below 20% winrate, wrong runes, wrong builds and obvious those always feed

I feel like , since the changed placement games so you can only be max rank of about low silver from it previously being plat if you win all your promo games was a big mistake

This is what happens when a pvp game is dying. The roster gets smaller so they put together players with greater disparities in skill. The writings on the wall, you'll need to find a new game.

But then again. My Queue time was around 1:30 all the last seasons and it was totally ok. There was no need to shorten them to 0-20 seconds.

Season 9 has been full to the brim of one sided games.

It's not mearly one guy getting fed either. I bear witness to vast gaps of competence in basic decision making among 1 or 2 matchmade individuals in many of these romps win or lose
