@Riot: Could you please enable a toggle option to show champion names instead of summoner names (enemys/teammates/both)? It worked for a time if you changed "ShowSummonerNames=1" to "ShowSummonerNames=2" in League of Legends\Config, but it doesnt work anymore :(

That would be great, not only for new players who learn the game and the 140(!) championnames. It would also improve the overview in teamfights.

An example from one of my last games in the video above. You can see that several champions are covered in Spell-effects and you literally CANT see them anymore! And here are only 4 champions involved. Imagine all 10 on one spot! You all know these situations.

If there would be championnames it would be so much easier in teamfights. No one looks at the Summonernames in heavy teamfights like: "Ahhh... +ShadowAssassin420blazeIT+ that ist Shaco ofcourse! And #1337rul0r-dontREPORTme# that is LeBlanc!"

Really... is anyone out there who care about the nicknames of other players?? No one even use them! You use always championnames in chat not summonernames. Like: "I need help bot, Rengar".

I don't get the one downvote. It's a toggle, if you didn't want the feature, just don't turn it on.

Isn’t that literally the same argument for voice chat when people downvote those threads too?

Maybe. But voicechat is on by default and you gotta toggle it off everytime you load in. For the most part people just don't care though. Their opinion matters more than the majority lol

they downvote it because they would prefer not to play against voice-coordinated teams, so in a way it actually affects them. For champ name toggle, I dont see how it would affect them in any possible way.

aye it would be nice. It happened once that i started attacking a thresh because i thought it was xayah and for some reason "thresh" started dealing a lot of damage to me and i died, and "xayah" was unbelievable tanky

We call each other in matches by our champions most of the dang time anyway so this would help a lot actually

True! Some Skins are so fancy (and/or uncommon) i cant even tell who that should be. There is nothing left from original champion sometimes.

even back in season 5 when I started playing LoL, learning champion names was one of the biggest obstacles as a newbie. I can't imagine how much higher the obstacle would be for new players in season 8.

I'd like to also see a HUD thing where you also have enemies listed above the minimap for easier targeting when the enemy team is bunched up.

That'd be nice, it'd feel like I'm playing against bots though.

Personally, I use the option to NOT display summoner names on the rift. I keep the names on the score board though.

this is fine fine to have it available in bots and blind pick but if u are going to be playing draft/ ranked.. and be banning champs... you should at least be able to identify each one.

i mean if u can name the first 150 pokemon how is this any different

that being said i actually think this would be very good for new players. and as long as we exclude it from draft and ranked.. it is certainly a good idea

I'm not sure if I get you right here. You say it's bad for ranked? Why? You can turn summoner names off already, ingame. By the way, it would be a toggle option, so you don't have to if you don't want. Furthermore: Ofc you would see summoner-names in champ select like now.

It would also be nice to not have to see the offensive names that people have. Yes, I report them but meh, so many of them it would be really nice to not have to see %%%%%0765 or pusseekilla78 every game.
