All these people with the anti Yasuo posts need to just learn to play him.

Because at the same time you've learned then to play against him

If you understand your enemy then you have a much better chance of beating them.

unfortunately people don't work that way, they will be annoying and hate no matter what smarter people say. i must say though good luck

Even when you know how to play him/against him, he still makes the game annoying. Like that fkin housefly that keeps buzzing around you. I mean, sure, in a straight 1v1, you'll stomp it, but it's still annoying af having it buzz/dash around for 10 minutes straight before you finally squash it.

Why is that such a bad thing? It's his playstyle, especially if you fight him near your wave.

The more he struggles, the more satisfying it is when you execute him with wind slash. Coming from a Riven player that is, but I know for instance malphite and Olaf crush him as well.

I don't have issues with tanks though after riot shifted their power back to normalcy. And the only supports I have issues with are the non interactive heal bots, I.E Soraka, but not to the level of spam down voting other people and starting inflammatory threads.

Oh, and I think GP is too strong for his safety but that's about it.

learning to play yasuo only gives you the capacity to abuse the bad ones, not take down the good ones.

a good yasuo ignores your CC, sticks to your face, and dodges your core damage dealing ability, invalidating what you can do, not necessary killing you, or being unable to be dealt with in general, just frustrating that you used everything and he came out unscathed, same as any "haha mechanix, cant touch me" champion.

The same can be said of literally any champion in the game.

Knowing how to play against a champion doesn't make it any less annoying to have to deal with that champion existing though. There will simply be kits that you don't enjoy playing against, not because they're OP but because they mandate a style of play that you don't enjoy.

Yasuo is among this group of champions. Fizz, Vladimir, Illaoi, Heimerdinger, Shaco, Evelynn, Zed, etc... are others. It's not that I don't know how to beat them, it's that win or lose I don't really enjoy the process.

Don't put Yasuo with Eve/Shaco. Those champs have very little counterplay unlike Yasuo

They have counterplay - largely pink wards or warding different spots. There's a reason you don't see them in competitive play (which is where stuff with limited counterplay should show up like crazy).

Anyways, the point wasn't "these champions don't have counterplay"; the point was that they're annoying to play against despite not being overpowered. I don't want to play a super passive laning phase for 15+ minutes and instruct my other two lanes to do the same (and hope they listen) and wait for Shaco to fall off since he can't get any kills. I want to earn my wins by pressuring my lane, either getting kills or forcing them to miss cs and xp.

Likewise, I don't want to play against Yasuo. I don't want to tell my jungler he has to camp him because Yasuo is an easy gank early and once he falls a bit behind he's relatively easy to keep down 1v1. I don't want to have to prioritize an early mana build so I can successfully bait out his windwall before engaging each time. I don't want to constantly stay away from my minion wave so he can't dash on to me and dodge every skillshot I can throw. I don't want to not be able to use my global ultimate on him because he can negate it with a normal ability. Etc... It's not that Yasuo is OP or lacks counterplay, it's just that I don't want to play against him because he's annoying.

You cannot get a pink ward until your first back, so levels 1-4 are basically no counterplay against them. You gotta play super safe. Once you get a pink, you can only place it in one area. Can't cover every gank path. Most Eves/Shacos actually gank through lane not even through a side. How is there counterplay to this??? There isn't.

There's a reason you don't see them in competitive play

No shit you don't see it in competitive. In competitive they are a lot more coordinated. Half the stuff they do would be impossible if you're playing solo q. You can't go into a game and expect your team to all buy pinks and ward around for you and communicate well. That's why there isn't any counterplay to those champs in solo que. IMO this means these champs are poorly designed. Garbage in pro play, but little counterplay in solo que. Who benefits? The few people who main these champs? Because it's fun playing this cancer?

Likewise, I don't want to play against Yasuo. I don't want to tell my jungler he has to camp him because Yasuo is an easy gank early and once he falls a bit behind he's relatively easy to keep down 1v1.

This is somewhat understandable. But I find most Yasuos even in Diamond elo feed their ass off or get fed. Most junglers should understand that a Yasuo whos playing aggro is a FREE WIN and you should talk to them before laning starts. Tell them Yasuo playing aggro will be free kill if they come. Most people play to win. If you ask for a gank and tell him your reasoning they will gank. This is why i would never waste a ban on something like Yasuo. He's not that strong and he's super easy to shutdown.

I don't want to have to prioritize an early mana build so I can successfully bait out his windwall before engaging each time.

That's not needed at all tbh. I'd say in elos below diamond you don't even have to worry about killing him too much. Yasuo is way too hard to pull off in real team fights. If you're playing someone like Ahri or Syndra or Vel Koz they win teamfights so much easier than Yasuo, unless they have a malph. He's super squishy also.

I don't think Yasuo can negate any global ultimate. In fact he cannot negate most ultimates in general

As a Jinx secondary, I have to disagree. Yasuo can definitely block my ultimate with windwall. Pretty sure he can also block Ashe's and Ezreal's global ultimates. As for ultimates in general? Any ultimate that's a projectile is blocked. So while it won't block a Lux ult, it will block a MF ult, a Syndra ult, a riven ult, etc...

Yeah forgot about those adc globals. But so can braum

Yeah forgot about those adc globals. But so can braum

Admittedly it's not globals that are the difference, but for me the big difference between Yasuo and Braum's projectile blocking abilities is as follows: Yasuo can throw up his windwall and peace out. He can block his turret from damage by the enemy ADC then move to the back line safely. He can throw it up in a teamfight for his back line then jump on your back line and still have that protection for his.

Braum's blocking ability goes with him. You can displace Braum then attack the target he's protecting. Or if Braum tries to save his turret by blocking ADC damage you can just focus Braum and kill him instead.

Yes, he's a tank and belongs where the damage is, to an extent, but he still has to actually be there and within range of threat in order for it to be useful.

Yasuo gets a really powerful move with no risk attached. That bothers me a lot more than Braum's does. Also, for Jinx specifically, there's always the ability to body-block an ultimate so Braum really was nothing new. Yasuo can protect himself (a person you'd normally try to snipe) which bugs me.

Yeah when he "throws" it, the windwall becomes a 25 second CD unlike Braums and his is in one place. Also Braums shield is stronger anyways

Yasuo gets a really powerful move with no risk attached.

Is there any move that has a risk attached? What risk is there to a Blitz q? None really. Thresh? Thresh pull can be game changing but has no risk to it. IF Yasuo uses his windwall in a bad way he's vulnerable in lane

, there's always the ability to body-block an ultimate so Braum really was nothing new. Yasuo can protect himself (a person you'd normally try to snipe) which bugs me.

Can't always body block like against Ezreal ult

And Yasuo has this because he needs it to survive. Otherwise he becomes too weak and would get shit on mid lane

Why is everything always about people's own satisfaction, take into account the other guy too.

This isn't a single player experience, other people are doing their best to have fun and enjoy the game too, if that's playing Yasuo then that's just how it is. Maybe they don't like your champs either and don't enjoy playing against 'X' champion as much as you hate theirs.

This constant vitriolic cycle of hate gets annoying, the champ isn't even that strong. Aforementioned Olaf is 'Actually' immune to CC like people seem to 'think' Yasuo is, goes ape on your back line, WHILE building tanky to boot.

Where are the Olaf posts then, does this not aggravate people as well? Or perhaps Yasuo and his players are just a target to make people feel better?

TLDR: It's not just a game you're in, take into account how others feel as well.

I don't think you understand the point of game balancing. The bar for a balanced champion is not set at "has counterplay" in specific situations. The bar for a balanced champion is how their overall power compares to an average league of legends champion.

Also, remember that the average champion you see in your game does not always represent the average power of a league of legends champion. There are 140+ champions in league and only 16 which are pick/banned each game. Players, especially in ranked, pick god tier and overpowered tier champions at a disproportionately high rate.

Personally, I don't think yasuo is necessarily too powerful now. However, you have to be very careful how much leeway you give champions. League is a game about snowballing the smallest differences in power and as a result is balanced on a knife's edge. It does not take much for a champion to require nerfs.

Ok, but his balance isn't in question here. He's honestly not some broken monster. And I bet a large portion of the Yas players simply enjoy his playstyle and his fast paced nature.

Other people just don't like him, which is their perogative, but it's no reason to cry "nerf!"

I think most of them are complaining about the Yasuo players on their team.

Part of the problem is he sees too much play. Playing him more won't fix that.
