Everyone has become so obsessed with winning, they've forgotten how to enjoy the game

League just is not fun at the moment. I think the majority of people can agree on that but the problem does not just stem from Riot's focus on high-octane, high damage 0.1 teamfights, it is also a much deeper problem with the players of the game themselves. I have NEVER seen a game where a team will help keep morale up or support a losing player with encouragement (unless they are a premade), its is always a torrent of abuse, swearing and disgusting behaviour.

I think people have got to stop and think for a moment. League is a GAME. Games are supposed to be fun escapism from our daily lives. I doubt anyone of us "regular" players will get selected for the LCS. Very VERY few players are and most of us just DO NOT HAVE THE SKILL to be that. So why do people take games so seriously and treat players that for whatever circumstance (bad connection, just an "off day" etc) with such contempt like they just murdered a member of their family.

It really shows a "Generation Gap" between the original players who have now become adults that don't do this and a younger generation that believe its acceptable to talk about raping somebodies mother etc. I imagine most parents would be horrified to see what their teenage or university aged child is saying to other people online.

We all need to STOP taking EVERY game like its life or death, chill out and enjoy the game. I have never seen a game where people don't want to report lanes for doing badly. That is NOT the correct use of the report system and maybe Riot could fix this by punishing players that do not use the report system in the correct way and continually make false reports.

I think we are all agreed... from Riot to us players... League needs to be more fun and we need to create a more accepting environment for experimentation rather then expecting people to pick meta or the most powerful champions all the time.

League is a GAME

YOU WILL NEVER BE AN LCS PLAYER... JUST ACCEPT IT AND MOVE ON - Even if you did, LCS players that are toxic are dealt harshly by Riot so if you seriously want to be one (and Kudos for trying) you need to learn to control your psychological state in the game and NOT say what you think.

I think you are overgeneralizing a bit, and some of your points are simply wrong. The toxicity was always there, the push to win existed since the first season started. Problem started when too many players grew tired of the game, losing interest, but couldn't leave for good, which results in frustration, and NOT because they have unreal ambitions. Combine that with terrible new player experience, that gates the influx of beginners, who would bring new perspective, and you have a disaster in the making.

Not to mention that some of dev's decisions indirectly piss people off too, favoring popular champions, giving them buffs and skins, sometimes making an item just for them, etc.

This is a competitive game. There is a winner and there is a loser.

Casual players bring that same sorry ass excuse, "It's a game and it's supposed to be fun" into all games like this and eventually the developers start listening to the casual player because there are a ton of them and they spend money so they cater to the made up casual BS rules so they stay.

Yes, it's a game but maybe casuals can't comprehend why it's a different type of fun because they are used to playing games where there isn't a winner and a loser.

If a player is not a competitive person then the best thing they can do is leave LOL and stop ruining the game for what it's supposed to be.

I just wish that RIOT didn't hang on the casual nutsack but they are in business to make money so that is what they do.

Most of the people who understand the type of game this is are not playing to be an LCS player, they are playing for the competition.

I just wish casual players could get that through their thick AF skulls and stop whining like babies and go play something else and stop ruining our fun by continuing to make up stupid rules that go against everything this game is about.

The reason league isn't fun isn't because people lose games otherwise with that same logic league is a trash game in every season.

The reason league is trash is because balance is trash and people are frustrated to losing to no skill high reward champions that riot always make sure is top tier.

For me I am so obsessed with having fun that I don’t really care about winning. But of course some of the fun is when I help carry and we win.

You're semi wrong:

By pushing a ranked format with an Esport associated with it, Riot turned a "Fun Game" in one that has at least in part a "Dream of accomplishment" associated with it. It has Trophies, Fans, Video feeds, merchandise based off popular players..... meeting the WWF.....

This is not a game. It's an accomplishment for those who perform well at it, but not at physical sports.
