This game is neither rewarding nor fun in its current incarnation

Its just damage, damage, damage... its all that really matters these days. Games are too short to effectively build 2-3 items before the game is decided so I hope you like building the "meta-approved" item EVERY game if you want to win or be prepared to get the scorn of your teammates. One team totally stomps the other to a point where even WINNING feels awful. I'm not sure if people actually enjoy this game anymore. I used to enjoy experimenting with different items on different champions and you simply cannot do that anymore. Its damage or else...

League has even lost its top spot as the most played game in the world and I believe its because of the awful direction that this game is heading in. Most gamers are about my age 25-30 and don't want to play this rubbish with ridiculous power crept new champions with insane ultimates and insane damage and insane mobility. We want to play a slower, more strategic League of the past where you could not just kill a tank in one combo with item 3147 and turrets were actually a credible threat to the other team.

What happened to this game that I used to love!?

Pushing champions in "roles" now and forcing a meta is killing this game. Riot used to design champions and leave it up to PLAYERS to figure out how to use them and in what lane. Now they are creating one-trick ponies like rework Taric that can ONLY be used in one lane. Old Taric could be taken top occasionally and sometimes even jungle. Why would Riot kill off diversity in their own game?

The way I see it, Riot have gone EXACTLY the same way as Blizzard. They have forgotten their days as a small company, making a QUALITY product and nowadays just churn out any old garbage and making sweeping changes to the game simple to make profit. They have forgotten how to skilfully craft an experience, the ONE thing that made them great. The artwork teams continue to churn out fantastic art work and promotional material but the gameplay team are constantly letting them down.

I'm not even mad or salty... just sad for Riot really. I loved this game and the company. They used to be for PLAYERS first. Now they are for MONEY first and it really sickens me that both Riot and Blizzard have fallen in this way. Two great game companies that really used to care.

Now they don't.

The game's dying. Just enjoy a bit of trolling then move on. The writings on the wall, there's no fixing this mess. RIOT devs have long stopped caring and are just milking as much cash out of the IP before they move on.

As long as gaming centers exist....this game will always favor faster paced games. They should just make a ranked version of Twisted Treeline for those who want 15 - 20 min games.

Riot has tried very hard lately to cut game time a lot because they were looking at other successful games around them. Fortnite and things like that where a match was 15 minutes or something. Certainly shorter than a league game at the very least, and damage is the easiest way to decrease game time.

Our concerns fall but upon deaf ears. That is the case when a company known for its one game falls prey to greed and incompetence. May you go in peace. Namaste.

Been like this since preseason 8.

Riot does apparently not understand being 1 or 2 shot is not fun, it is not interesting, it is stupid. I wonder Riot when people leave for Dota2 do they ever come back?

I stopped giving them money even when super cool stuff comes out. Every time I get a player their system should've scooped for throwing games I remind them how long its been since I've given them money and why I'm still refusing to give them money lol

Its kinda hard to measure whats balanced and make changes across the whole system when you can't even gather 10 individuals with basic integrity into one game. 8 out of 10 still leaves 2 to ruin it for the rest. Matchmaking? Ranks? Tiers? Yeah those don't matter when they started putting bronze with gold etc for the sake of speed.

Oh- and this isn't out of spite but I used to care more about the LCS and Pros when my average games didn't feel so terrible. Relating to them playing is awesome, but I don't watch LCS anymore because I can't relate to their teamwork. You can't focus teamwork in a game that pre-requires you abandon all your human emotions and language expressions in order to not get banned the times you're frustrated. You can't focus teamwork in a game that will punish you for talking and annoying someone---- even if that someone is not even trying to win.

Company sucks ballsack

It's like riot forgot that their game was the generation that followed the brief RTS boom, it's not meant to be a mindless action game like fornite or other FPS games, the fundamental structure of the game is designed to be played at a slower pace with more depth.

This kind of MOBA design was basically a single hero RTS, and honestly it's probably just as accurate to refer to league as an RTS. Yet games like bloodline champions (then battlerite i believe) kind of demonstrated that an action centered MOBA wasn't viable in the market, yet for some reason league still decided to keep pushing in that direction.

Something that I've noticed from playing games over the years and knowing some of the people in the industry. The explosive success stories are just as much luck as they are quality. Most game developers who make an explosively successful title don't really understand why or how their game managed to become such a powerhouse title, so as they try to innovate there's hundreds of ways to make the game worse and very few ways to objectively improve on the aspect(s) of the game that made it successful, the result is that you just slowly peel away at the fringes of your massive audience until it's just not so massive anymore...

Like you said, it's exactly what blizzard did, and for similar reason, but it's not necessarily that they put money first, it's that when you get a sufficiently large enough crowd, you get different interest groups who like different aspects of the game, and rarely can you add or rework ANYTHING about the only available version of the game that will not unintentionally piss off some part of your community who either get strong armed out by power creep of the new features or completely disenfranchised as the things that they enjoy get replaced. This is the advantage that a game like minecraft had, it allows for the natural evolution of the game, rather than forced evolution by the developer down a single branch.

But, its fun turning my brain off and doing bullshit amounts of damage Riven /s In all honestly, hopefully Jatt can liberate us from this hellhole when he has say in balance.

I'm going to have to stop you right there. Not only has Rito not fallen down to the level of Blizzard, who basically have brought WoW to the point where the computer almost plays the game for you, but you people are forgetting all the BAD things of old, like league of Wriggle, AP Yi and Trynda, league of black cleaver, and many, MANY more.

Imagine if Riot actually put time and effort into fixing their game based on player feedback and extensive testing rather than knee jerk patches and unnecessary reworks and overhauls that no one asked for. Or all these flashy particle effects and emojis and recall animations that show where they prioritize their budget!

They don't care if their game is a broken pile of code and feces for anyone that doesn't play in pro-circuits, because if they did, they'd fix the matchmaker, they'd balance the game, they'd remove like 5 champions until they're balanced in line with the rest, and they'd probably cut the roster by 30 or so champions who don't do anything relevant aside from waste space on the servers.

They should also rebuild the client in a new update to get rid of the decades old code that still has the same bugs from 2009.
