Garen Builds

Hello there, I play Garen a lot in Top lane, even tried him jungle a few times but im pretty bad at that, and i was just wondering what are some builds you guys have tried out that have worked pretty well or builds that would theoretically work?

My normal build: i usually always buy these 4 items, the 5th item is dependent on their team being AD or AP, boots also are dependent on the situation.

My full AD build Garen for when i want to mess around: this almost never works for me lol but it sure is fun.

My attack speed build: ive only done this once and it was hilarious.

Those are some of my builds that i have tried... what are some of yours?

Normally my core goes:

Good damage for trades and all-ins while keeping nice health and regen. Then I for more situational items. BUT THINGS GET SERIOUS WHEN I GO AD:

LMFAO thats a scary build if you do well

it seems our cores a the same though. I would like other builds on him to be more viable but he just isnt that kind of champion.

The active on Righteous Glory is useful but the mana is not, wouldnt Randuins be better? I know you are going for health regen but the wasted mana makes that item not so good on him.

Armor Pen Reds Armor/Lvl Seals MR/lvl glyphs or CD/lvl if vs mainly AP Armor Pen Quints

Your damage early game is overbearing, and you don't sacrifice any tankiness. 90% this is a first blood, especially if you opt for ignite over teleport in SoloQ.

From there, I go Ghostblade -> Sunfire/Visage -> IE -> Warmog -> then trade Ghost for LW if needed. It's not the megatank Garen, but you'll melt people while at the same time being tanky.

The warmogs is redundant now since his passive already gives him hyper sustain outside of battle thanks to visage. Instead, focus on making use of his W's bonus armour and MR passive with GA.

Rush a Brutalizer and then build tanky. Towards mid game, start working on I.E if you're ahead, otherwise keep building tanky. Also boots of Swiftness ensure he gets to his target and sticks there.

I usually build brut if im winning lane, if im losing lane ill build whatever defense i should, if im barely winning lane (as in being out damaged but im out playing) ill rush Sunfire if they are AD or Hex if they are AP (i sell the hex later for better damage or more tank tho). I get Warmogs mostly for the health, but also its fun to walk out of battle for a few seconds and see straight 50-60's per second lol.

I dont like building IE on Garen because it is too expensive, like you need to be really really ahead to buy it and still be functional most times. I prefer Ghostblade for bonus movespeed and attack speed for split pushing.

The boots i get depend on their team comp, if im fighting a hardcore AD champ i get Tabi, if its AP top then Merc, if im not in need of defensive boots i get Swiftness
