Blitzcrank
I'd like to talk about Blitzcranks hook.
This famous skillshot is known by its sneakiness and power. Recently I came to conclusion that this skillshot is ridiculous (thank god blitz is not played much).
So to the point.
Laning phase: He can be utterly bad or unbearably good. If you counterpick him with tank support he might do little. And even if you do not counterpick him and go with squishier lineup then you can play smart and outplay him. Still I do not like the idea that you have to hard counterpick champion to win the lane. And outplaying good Blitz is not a easy feat.
But there is always chance that Draven will be acompanying Blitz and that one hook you didn't dodge will cost you a lane, and it will not matter that you are Braum with doran shiled.
Blitz on lane requires incredible amount of cooperation of enemy bot.
Late game
Good blitz can pressure whole team by just not being visible. Because there is no way you are going to dodge sneaky grab from over the wall. Ofcourse wards do help against that, but you know how these teams look. Wards are responsibility of a support, arn't they? Still, even if all team would put down wards, enemy team can always sweep it away. And who is gonna put these wards again if there is Blitz on the other side? Needless to say Blitz is most dangerous in late game when enemy team has no place in inventory for wards. Forcing them to have trinket wards and therefore little tools for clearing wards giving Blitz even more advantage.
So I must say that he has just little counterplay. You are forced to ward which has little meaning with clearing power that trinkets bring.
In the end Blitz may land just one hook, but this one hook might win the game. You can dodge hooks whole game for 40 minutes. But you wont dodge that one time and the game ends.
Ofcourse this has also some risks. Blitz can always grab some scary tank and loose the game for his team. But thats the same. Should really one skillshot have so much influence over the game?
If you asked me what would I do about it I would not be able to answer. Because the Hook has binary performance. Either you miss and nothing happens or you hit and anything can happen. There would probably had to be more extensive rework.
