"Kled has a strong early game" "Kled is super sticky"

I feel like this is setting Kled up to have all the problems of old Fiora. His abilities are so bad as defensive options, especially when he's low on health, so it seems like he can only be balanced to win every duel or just be useless. If he ends up being balanced, it will probably not be as an early game bully that always tries to go ham, but instead a passive laner who just tries to farm until he hits 6 and can initiate teamfights by giving more mobility to certain champion than they have any right to have.

Or as a high risk high reward champion, which is probably what his kit was all about to being with.

Or as a high risk high reward champion

You don't just say "oh he's high risk high reward" and automatically make him into a balanced champion. The fact is that Kled goes in with a gapcloser that's basically unavoidable, then most of his damage is dealt with unavoidable autoattacks, then he dashes out. Either he wins that unavoidable trade or he wouldn't have gone in for the trade to begin with. Kled lacks the counterplay that would make a high risk high reward champion healthy, so no matter how many times you say he's high risk high reward, he just isn't.

He doesn't need to win that trade. He might even lose the trade and still be worth it, as he can still get Skaal back later and make the trade worth it.

He is a champion who's probably going to have a bad time against many of the popular top laners (unless his numbers are overtunned), but has the means to snowball himself or his team.

As long as he's released with the inherent risk to his kit, he will prob be balanced to some extent.

In fact his trade patterns remind me of Renekton, but with possible counterplay.

Undoing all the damage you took in a trade when the opponent doesn't still means you won that trade. In the lane you describe, Kled simply does his trade over and over again, undoing all the damage his opponent deals to him, until he wears them down and kill them with nothing they can do about it except for sitting under tower without even trying to cs.

That is not any worse than Vlad's trade pattern.

He can undo the damage by fighting in a weaker form, which can be easily abused. If someone struggles against a melee champion who has 285 when not running into you and an awfully small health pool, that player indeed deserves to lose.

Skaal also has no health regen, so poking him down is extremely easy and rewarding.

His only means of damage mitigation is high risk.

Most Top laners should also be able to beat him easily. Darius can pull him back after his combo, Renek can follow him, Fiora can block part of his burst, Irelia and Nasus should be able to out sustain him, so should Vlad. Rumble will prob be a skill match-up, so will be Wukong. I don't see him as a being strong on top. In fact I believe he will most likely be a jungler to mitigate how abusable he might become on top or mid.

Vlad's not an early game champion. He's meant to thrive in team fights so he can be balanced to lose a lot of matchups but still make up for it in the late game.

They're advertising Kled as an early game champion who wants to go ham all the time, for that to work he needs to dominate every lane from minute 1 and his lack of counterplay is going to feel much worse than most champions in that case.

my only problem is his ult, strong early game with a strong ult that does perc hp damage, cc, and team wide movement speed buff? Rip thats game, ban him til hes nerf.

Really, his ult is what's going to prevent him from becoming a stats check.

He'd be even more like the old fiora, if his ult was replaced with something more greedy.

The main problem I would see with his ult, is the global pressure. Partially due to the fact that he could use the speed from his ult to get back into lane Quickly, without needing to blow your TP. (Allot like Sion) But unlike Sion, he doesn't need to initiate his ult in a strait line. (Making in way more reliable.)

Trust me.. that ult on pbe was the main reason he won most of his games... lets say you somehow beat him in lane right, it doesnt matter cause he has one of the best I've seen, its basically a mix of sion+sivir ult, thats op man. Sion and sivir are already strong in their own right, but mix them together AND give it a shield and max perc hp damage too.. thats just too strong man. When I played against him, when he wasnt mounted, so easy to beat.. when hes mounted, hes basically another meta bruiser (fiora, irelia) but thats beatable. His ult is a team wide utility movement speed boost, like damn I think it makes his team run faster than sivir ult, thats how op I think it is. Its just SO fast...

If you watch competitive or play in higher elo, speed is the name of the game man, riot has been vouching for it for years. If you can get players to one area faster than the other, you are most likely going to win.

rito please, remove the shield from his ult and give it a low base damage not max hp damage, the utility from it is already op as it is.

A good part of Kled's counter-play in lane revolves around Frenzy. Kled can't hold onto it forever and just wait until he can hit his opponent, or he'll miss some cs. It's up to the opponent to play around that damage threat and try to fight Kled when it's down.
