When you're the #1 game in the world, you don't stay that way by completely changing the gameplay.
Whether the failed experiment that is season 6 was to change the game because they felt like it, or if it was to attempt to keep up with all the new mobas coming out, it was a dire mistake by riot. They are the most played game in the world. That means they were doing something right. They decided to completely overhaul the core gameplay that made them great by experimenting during the ranked season. They removed Solo Queue so now us solo ranked players have the pleasure of playing with toxic 3 and 4 man premades. Thanks to all their reworks, half the champions in the game sit completely out of meta and just feel sub par compared to things like korean lucian or tank ekko. The same batch of champions just get changed every patch, keeping the meta exclusive and the same for far too long.
Riot isn't listening to any of its customers clearly, as instead of adding a solo queue, they work on things like giving Annie a flash on 40 second CD.
Riot has estranged many of its core and long term players. If you take breaks from this game months at a time like a lot of people do, they don't want to learn the new dragons that are reworked every 6 months, or the 10 new champions, the 20 new items, and they miss their old ones. (RIP DFG)
RIot is changing this game like they are trying to draw in a new crowd to make more money instead of trying to keep around or please the ones they already earned by making a great competitive game.
League of Legends isn't overwatch, or Heroes of the Storm. It's league of legends. You don't need to be more like them or fresh and new to compete with them. You need to keep and enhance the core gameplay we had for years, and LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYERS (solo queue.)
