Yasuo is proof riot has no integrity left.

God Went MIA··23 votes·1,600 views

This whole season has been a joke, proving that riot doesn't care about keeping ranked competitive, from dynamic queue, to completely changing the balance of the game around monthly during the season. But it's getting absolutely ridiculous with this yasuo favoritism. Riven gets nerfed because her ults up too often but yasuo doesn't get touched, despite calls for nerfs for YEARS? Now yasuo is even bugged for more damage and riot won't just simply disable him for a few days because God forbid they can't use their favorite hypercarry every game. The same deal that went on with Zed for a long time, now has gotten to such a ridiculous point that it's just embarrassing for RIot Games

In such a competitive ranked culture, you are literally leaving in a BROKEN/BUGGED champ, that is already top tier without his extra damage. This just continues season 6's legacy of being just awful for ranked players.

Riot, how about you pretend to be competent for 10 minutes and disable this broken champ until you can fix him.

You do realize this patch he is getting fixed?

But we had to play with him like this for the last like 2 weeks.

I laughed at the bias.

yasuo doesn't get touched, despite calls for nerfs for YEARS?

Let's break it down. Yasuo was released on December 13th of 2013.

Following his release first he was called a weak champion, even going as far as being called a troll pick. Then he was being nerfed MULTIPLE TIMES throught the whole Season until on December 10th of 2014 - 3 days short from a whole year - he received his first and only buff that wasn't accompanied by a nerf in the same patch. He then spends most of 2015 in a relatively bad state - winrate going down to legendary levels of 40% at one point - and it isn't until pre-Season 6 that his top lane bruiser build emerges - thanks to item changes - at which point he stops sucking completely. From that day on he only sucks at mid lane. Now we finally reach the present day in which a bugfix caused... a bug, which falsely inflates his winrate in top and mid. Riot decided, it isn't worth to endanger the server with a hotfix or bother with disabling Yasuo.

I don't agree with Riot on this particular issue - truth be told, I don't agree with them on a looooot of things - but don't act like Yasuo was OP from the day of his release and never got nerfed, despite cries from the community, because all of that is simply a one big fucking lie.

He's getting nerfed next patch, and Riven just got buffed. Riot doesn't show favoritism to champs, some champs just aren't as op as you think they are. You have to learn how to play around them.

SnugglePuggle945 votes

"Riot doesn't show favoritism"????

How about leaving Zed broken for years months on end when hundreds called for nerfs everyday, and when they finally do, they give him such tiny nerfs that they are called love taps, and if any nerf was big they gave him a compensation buff for it?

How about leaving Lee Sin as one of their favorite play toys and then buffing him out of nowhere for no reason?

I can go on and on but man you are so wrong about Riot it makes my eyes burn out of their sockets.

Puffing Daisies5 votes

Zed wasn't broken, back then you had Qss, which could remove his ult, and Zhonyas had a shorter cooldown. Again, He wast broken, he just did a lot of damage to a single target and people were upset that that target was them. He is an assassin, and every assassin has a similar play style.

Lee Sin has a high skill cap, and in order to play him to his maximum potential, you have to put in a lot of practice. His playwright is low at lower elos. The buffs he got were to his w, which was only ever used to ward hop. It benefits him to jump to other people in a fight or help his jungle clear, which is not the best if your playing him like a tank.

Uh, yes he was broken. AP mid laners can't build QSS, and any good Zed could and can still wait out Zhonya's then throw a Q and bam dead. With the arrival of Duskblade and a tanky build he was doing over half health of a full tank Nasus's health that I saw one day. People were calling for nerfs everyday. He was a permaban and still is. And no, not every assassin has a similar playstyle. Most if not all assassins are not like him with his get out of jail free card. You can stop a full ult Katarina in her tracks with a stun or displacement spell. You can use a pink to find an Akali or Talon. You can bait out Fizz's troll pole. But Zed? He can just bam press R and jump back to safety after killing you with no counterplay.

And if that doesn't speak favoritism, the removal of QSS is. That just speaks "FAVORITES" in my mind- letting a small form of counterplay now be put useless against them is complete and utter favoritism for their playboy.

I've never played Lee Sin but just go look around the boards. He's never been hit with the nerf bat in what, years? And kept strong just about always, then bam they just buff him out of nowhere. Again, just giving an example of their favoritism.

I just don't see it, I have never seen what is so bad about him. He is not that hard to plat adjacent if you know his counter match-ups and you know what his abilities are. Also you don't use Zhyonyas to black incoming damage, you use it to block the ult pop, which always happens after 3 seconds. Zhyonyas lasts 2.5, so just do the math and use it 1 sec after he lets you. Flash is also a way to counter Zed, you flash away from his Surikans and Spin after he ults you to take less damage. Also I have never seen a Zed not die like instantly after he got stunned in the middle of a team fight.

VoidStaresBack1 votes

Zed has plenty of counterplay, because his ultimate is so predictable. He comes out in a predictable spot by his target at a predictable time, and it's child's play to cc him the moment he appears and blow him to hell. The problem is people refuse to even acknowledge that because they're so aggravated by him being able to escape after blowing up a target.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

He has little to no counterplay. And for most people in my elo, they don't remember to think "Oh I need to CC this bullshit champion after he jumps on me!" They try to escape and get blown up and when they finally do try to retaliate, he's already pressed R back to safety while he spams /laugh at them while they die. It's happened to me before plenty of times before I learned I needed to lock him down when he arrived behind me, but he's still way too broken and frustrating to play against.

Complete and utter bullshit of a champion if you ask me.

VoidStaresBack1 votes

People not using his counterplay doesn't mean he doesn't have counterplay.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

And even if people use it, it's very little if at all. Most champions have a good window of counterplay, his is very slight.

for years months on end when hundreds called for nerfs everyday

The boards calling for nerfs is not a good reason to nerf someone lol.

People here just hate Zed. I get it. I don't like laning against him either. He's annoying to play against. But people here seem to confuse frustration with balance.

If the boards had their way, every assassin in the game would be nerfed to total unviability.

People are exaggerating with Yasuo too. He's another champion people love to hate.

I've played plenty of ranked games with and against yasuo recently. Ya, the bug needs to be fixed, but he's not a guaranteed win.

And no, Riot really doesn't show favoritism towards him. He's spent long periods of time frankly overnerfed because people hate to play against him so much. He's only come back into the spotlight recently, mostly because of keystone masteries and this new bruiser build. He's certainly not the only assassin/light fighter to abuse keystones and a bruiser build this season (Fiora Fizz MasterYi Ekko )

SnugglePuggle945 votes

Their frustration was because of balance, bro. Zed was completely and utterly broken and still has no counterplay. The boards calling for nerfs was justified and is a good reason to get them nerfed.

I hate Yasuo, but at least I know how to deal with him. I still want him nerfed but not the way people are asking for. I want some of his defensive bullshit taken out like his shield or windwall. That's what I want.

Maybe if Riot fixed the itemization so fighters and assassins wouldn't have to be going tanky then this shit wouldn't be happening.

doubleguac4 votes

still has no counterplay.

summoner 3 item 3157 TahmKench Bard Zilean

Zed never had that high of a win rate. People just hate getting deleted. Zed deletes people. He's an assassin, that's what he's supposed to do.

He has and has always had clear weaknesses to offset his strengths.

Outside of a couple weeks at the very beginning of the season, when thunderlords was really oppressive, Zed has not been overpowered.

And if you take out Yasuo's "defensive bullshit," people are just going to continue building him tanky, or drop him completely. His intended, light build relies completely on those features to stay alive at melee range. If you want to get rid of tank Yasuo, you need to nerf his base damage, which is what Riot is doing next patch.

SnugglePuggle944 votes

Zhonya's was nerfed so incredibly much that people barely build it first item anymore. The armor and AP was nerfed heavily and then they decided to put a CDR increase on the active. So guess what? That's another form of favoritism because now Zed can ult you twice in the time span that the active is down. So you use it to save yourself once- bam he just kills you twice more. Not much counterplay there.

Not every team takes a Tahm, Bard or Zilean, bud.

His "weaknesses" aren't that very clear and are barely weaknesses if that. Sure, he's an assassin but most of them have good forms of counterplay. He DOESN'T.

He's been a permaban for months now and still is. When I actually had to play against him awhile ago because he slipped through the bans, he was oppressive as ever. He has been OP for a very long time, no matter what you say.

Why does he need to have those defensive things anyway? Diana does just fine with a shield, she doesn't have a shield and a windwall that blocks literally everything even things that basically hit him but he threw he wall out anyway so it blocked it still. Literally no other fighter has the things he does. It's bullcrap.

doubleguac1 votes

Zhonya's was nerfed so incredibly much that people barely build it first item anymore.

Zhonya's is a much more practical item to rush now. It's cheaper and the CDR is great for a first buy (think of how many people rush morello or abyssal when laning against other mages).

His "weaknesses" aren't that very clear and are barely weaknesses if that. Sure, he's an assassin but most of them have good forms of counterplay. He DOESN'T.

I'm sorry you find him annoying (again, I do too). But he absolutely has counterplay and weaknesses. His ultimate puts a huge visual icon on the target and gives their whole team a second to react. He's a strong lane-bully with good roam, who can carry a game if he snowballs. But if he falls behind, all he can really do is split push.

There's a reason Riot has cited him as a relatively healthy assassin. He has a much more interactive kit than most of the older assassins (many of whom are basically just point-and-click stat checks).

Why does he need to have those defensive things anyway? Diana does just fine with a shield,

He needs those defensive things because he is a sustained damage squishy melee (at least, he's supposed to be squishy). Literally every other champion in the game who fits that description has some kind of clutch defensive skill. Yi has Alpha strike and meditate. Fiora has riposte. Tryndamere has his ultimate. Ekko (he's intended to be a light fighter, though he isn't played that way) has his ultimate and shield.

It's not more practical to buy at all. It's a waste of an item besides the active, which since the cooldown was nerfed it won't save you everytime you need it especially come late game when multiple teamfights start.

There isn't a "whole second" to react. Zed gets 0.5 seconds to be able to jump back to safety. You don't have much time to react at all and think "I need to turn on him when he appears behind me." Most people in my elo don't do that.

There's a reason Riot has cited him as a relatively healthy assassin. He has a much more interactive kit than most of the older assassins (many of whom are basically just point-and-click stat checks).

"Healthy"?! He's not healthy at all. If I want to play against a "healthy" assassin I'll choose to play against an Akali, Nidalee, or any other assassins besides that broken piece of shit.

All those champions have defensive skills that are way more easier to play against and are not as stupidly broken. Plus Yasuo shouldn't need both a shield and a stupid windwall. It's complete overkill if you ask me.

GULAG 4 U2 votes

Yasuo is squishy as fuck. His freeloforce build is getting nerfed. If you don't focus a full damage melee carry down in a teamfight then you are fucking stupid.

SnugglePuggle943 votes

Of course he's squishy if he builds mid lane, but as his tank build he's a hell more of a problem. And I know to focus him in fights, bro.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

That's why he needs his shield and windwall in mid.

But freeloforce doesn't need it. That's why they're nerfing freeloforce.

SnugglePuggle943 votes

Look at all the mid laners. The only other fighter besides him is Diana, who only has one defensive ability- her shield, and her pull in slow but that's not like a windwall which will block any projectile. Do you see any other mid laner having trouble trying to survive? No. So why does he get that crap? It's stupid that he has it in my opinion. CertainlyT just slapped it on him for no reason than just to aggravate people.

  1. Diana is not the same as yasuo. Diana is a diver/assassin yasuo is a Skirmisher. Not even a bruiser. Wtf diana is a bruiser? Ples? Also diana's shield scales off a stat she builds. Deals damage. Is on demand. Really comparing yasuo's shield to diana's is dumb.

  2. He's squishy as f00k unless he goes freelo force. Or tank. Also he has no reliable ranged harass (3rd Q will never be equal to actual mid lane harass) unless he goes melee so he sorta needs it.

  3. CertainlyT wanted to make yasuo based on Striking, dashing and parrying. I do agree that Windwall has the parry mechanic is really mehhhh.

  1. Diana is a fighter, bud. Look it up. People just play her more bursty like because she does better damage that way. Yasuo is also seen as a fighter. Duh.

  2. Diana is also squishy as f00k unless she builds ROA like I do but most Diana players don't do that. And fyi, there are a ton of melee champions that don't have Yas's stupid shield, so why does get it? Complete and utter nonsense if you ask me.

  3. Well CertainlyT fucked up, just like everything he does here. Windwall needs to be removed to be honest.

doubleguac1 votes

only other fighter besides him is Diana

Riot themselves can't figure out what Diana is. Her kit is somewhere between bruiser and assassin. She's a very different champion with very different play patterns than Yasuo. Most importantly, she has burst and ranged wave clear. Which are pretty crucial distinctions. I don't see how the comparison is useful at all.

SnugglePuggle943 votes

Reason why is because Riot messed up when they made her. People found out her damage falls off if you build her the way she's intended and since she does assassin like damage going burst, they like her better that way.

Diana shouldn't be using Q for waveclear much during laning phase as that burns mana. She should be using it to poke a bit but for trades she needs to use her passive, shield and E, which uses her fighter capabilities.

And reason why I used her because 1) she is a fighter, 2) she does just fine with her small amount of defensive skills, which I compare to Yasuo-he doesn't need all that defensive bullshit in his kit if other fighters are doing just fine with a smaller amount of them or skills that are more easy to play against, and 3) I can't think of any other fighter that would come close to comparison.
