Why the hell are people suddenly picking Veigar so often now?

I swear I'm seeing a huge increase on the Veigars I see on spec live (so its not low elo). What happened?

because Riot keeps buffing the living crap out of him.

after they made his stun faster he became really good but the major reason why most ex-veigar mains were dissatisfied was due to the fact that his Q being a skillshot changed him from a lane bully to a farmer which is pretty boring.

for years he wasn't and that's why people liked playing him, his playstyle changed so a good amount of veigar mains disliked him.

Nope, he was first nerfed to dead because of his delay, also most ex-Veigar mains are dissatisfied by his unreliable E, which is easy to dodge by good player, and if that ability fails, then Veigar will get his ass handed to him.

I really liked veigar after the rework, I really dont want to see him nerfed, but I guess no one wants to see a character they love get nerfs right... veigar is really powerful right now, even if you die 3-4 times in laning phase you can easily reach 150 stacks by 20 minutes, which pretty much means you gurantee going over 1200 AP (if you continue stacking half decent that is...) I just wish people would stop surrendering when I reach 300 stacks ffs.

Gradual buffs over the patches (nothing gamebreaking) and the latest patch was a pretty nice buff:

Baleful Strike The passive will now generate AP on assists.

Dark Matter Cast time removed (previously 0.25 seconds). Veigar must still complete a 0.25 second casting animation to begin issuing new commands, but all effects now happen instantly. (Total delay effectively reduced to 1.25 seconds from 1.5.)
