The chinese boosting strategy with kayle top + jungle yi shows that the problem is supp itemization

(for those that dont know its kayle top that rushes ardent with windspeakers + other supp items + jungle yi as the hyper carry)

Ardent (one of the most overpowered items in the game atm, specially earlier in the game), knights vow, locket, all that shit + her ult used on yi so he can completely decimate the other team while he basically cannot be bursted down.

But hey lifesteal too op, adcs too op, let me make another thread complaining about adcs, when the root of the problem is the support items.

Btw even if you nerfed adcs so hard for them to become shit ppl would just abuse melee hypercarries with those broken support items instead (adc meta would go back to sivir/ashe/press r to be useful adc with a melee hypercarry top or jungle), or are you going to say that yi is too op and should be nerfed instead of the support itemization?

Idk.

I think most of that problem stems from

  1. Solo queue's lack of coordination against this type of thing, which requires so by CC'ing Yi as hard as they can as soon as the combo is pulled and he's coming at you without a care.
  2. Kayle's ulti just being a bit too hard to balance as a whole.

All they have to do is gank the shit out of kayle and invade the yi and it becomes a 3v5. The kayle and yi need to have significantly better macro and micro plus be experienced at this strategy to make it work consistently against decent players, making it only really viable for a pair of smurfs duoing.

Except that cheese strat falls flat on its face against a half coordinated team with a good amount of HARD cc at hand.

I tried it out, ended up playing it into Ivern Braum Galio Jax , what me and my friend would be the worst teamcomp to play it into. We still destroyed that game.

Although this mostly works because of their teamwork and the fact they out skill their opponent. Master Yi is used a lot for boosting and smurfing in general with the duo using anything to make their job easier. Kayle is very good at it and doesn't require gold, press W for a heal+MS buff which Yi likes and R to make him immune to damage that lasts long enough for him to kill 1~2 people. This is still going to happen even without these items. Another champion some people use along side Yi is Zilean, or Lulu in mid lane and Karma either top or mid with Karma even going with tank builds.

Pretty sure this strat shows a lack of skill, seeing people abuse a strat to take elo from other players just because they saw a video on it, it's completely unfair to 5 random soloq players of any elo, coordination is not a staple of soloq and thus it is required to beat this strat.. it's broken and being abused by people and results in unfair and unhealthy gameplay

You're leaving out information here. This is a strategy used by two challenger level players duo quing to boost accounts quickly into diamond. It only really works as well as it does when it's a pair of players who are both essentially smurfing and does not work against players of a similar skill level who are capable of seeing the flaws and punishing them.
