Does anyone see this as unfun to play against and possibly bannable?

Just hear me out for a quick sec, there are quite a few streamers who make multiple alt accounts, smurfs. Challengers boasting about beating silver/gold elo and quite frankly it isn't quite fair. (I can provide links if needed) I would just like to know the boards' thoughts on this, i personally think that people who are masters+ smurfing, is quite frustrating, but more than that, them streaming and boasting about how good they are is quite unfair to play with/against. Thoughts?

I agree that it could be frustrating to play against. However, I do think it is okay. Even though they are a much higher rank, there is no advantage given to them other than just being "better" at the game. So because everyone starts even at the beginning of every game its just skill vs skill and I think thats fare. Plus I look at getting stomped as a big learning lesson then as a tilting. Because i learn alot when people do better because i see things I can improve that they do or that i didnt do. As for them boasting about it, it is kinda annoying but they do it just to get views so meh. I wouldnt make it ban-able but thats just me

It's definately unfun and unfair. I think autofill being always on will help Riot deal with smurfs, if they can nail down the queue times at high elo (which is one of the reasons many smurf to begin with).

It's currently not bannable, or even punishable.

Meh, for a high elo player to get anything below gold is hard to do. I have 3 accounts and this is the first time I was placed silver from plat. But I'm still only playing against plat players. It's hard to get a new account in silver or bronze

it is kinda unfair but not really anything they can do about it since its about the same as every other game, also they would only be able to ban the people that admit to be smurfing (70% of bronze) or streamers and that isnt really fair to the streamers to be the almost the only ones getting banned for it.

It's unhealthy for the matchmaker.

Suppose you have two teams in Silver 3. One team is slightly better and should win, but the other team has a Diamond 3 smurf on it. That means that, if that Diamond player can carry her team, then as a result of this game nine players' MMR is moved in the opposite direction than they should.

Once-off, it's not a huge deal, but if enough players do it, then it will begin to affect matchmaking quality, because the smurf is a random factor that isn't really based on the skill difference of the other players involved. Each random factor (smurfs, trolls, afks, disconnects, etc.) make the overall matchmaking slightly worse, because they can cause games to be decided by that one factor rather than the skill of the "normal" players in those games.

I'm not going to get into the fun or fairness of it right now, just going to point out the effect that a lot of it will have on the quality of matchmaking.
