[Rework Idea] Azir: Emperor of Shurima
Hey guys,
Azir is an awesome champ thematically. His VO is sick, visuals are awesome and he has a niche strategic identity as a sand Necromancer.
In this rework pitch, I will be converting Azir from a DPS mage to a powerful sand necromancer who raises the armies of Shurima to fight for him ONCE MORE.
P: Sands of Time: All damage taken and recieved by sand soldiers is converted and stored as Sand. Azir can consume 1k Sand to create a SHURIMA WATCHTOWER and his current location. 3- second channel. (Since I'm removing his attack speed, I gave him this cool abilitiy to raise Shurima anywhere. I envision its gonna slowly change the ground around it to be sandy, and can set it up anywhere, including dragon/baron fights. )
Q: Summon Shurima Spearman (1 / 2 / 3 charges): Summon a spearman that attacks nearby enemies (focusing on the Emperor's target if in range). Lasts 3 seconds.
W: Summon Shurima Shieldbearer (1 / 2 / 3 charges): Summon a shieldbearer which can tank skillshots for the Emperor. Enemies cannot pass through the shieldbearer. Lasts 3 seconds
E: ADVANCE! : Order all summoned soldiers to move a short distance in a direction. (12 second cooldown)
R: EMPERORS DIVIDE:Summon two lines of ROYAL chariots to part the enemy, allowing the emperor to move freely. Enemies take true damage if they are hit by the Chariot's spiked wheels.

As you can see, I'm changing Azir from a dps mage, to a battlefield control mage. I believe this will suit his thematic better. HIs goal is for his ARMIES to rise again. Now look at the amount of troops he can summon. Azirs playstyle will be a lot like playing Chess. SUmmon the correct soldier for the correct situation, and advancing them to potentially block skill shots etc.
I'm keeping His iconic Ultimate but buffing it. Now it will summon a egyptian chariot rider, to part the enemy instead of pushing them back. This is becuase now Azir has no mobility. He has to rely on summoning shieldbearers to block incomming skillshots, and his ultimate to create an escape path for him.
What do you guys think? I think Azir is a SICK champion but his identitiy is kinda confused. By tranforming him into someone who can raise a huge ass ARMY of spearmen, shieldbearers and chariot racers... then advancing them to victory? Thats gonna be really cool.
Plus his passive can raise a watchtower at any location, Providing vision and shooting arrows for a brief amount of time.
