You Know What Play Makes No Sense To Me?

I was just watching a stream and I seen a pet peeve play occur that has always bothered me that makes absolutely no sense.

It happened at the bottom inhibitor tower.

When you are in your base defending your inhibitor towers. Why are so many people scared to fight under their own tower..........but then as soon as the enemy team takes your tower.......you all the sudden get brave and initiate a fight.

If you do not think you can win a fight with your tower up to help you....why do you start the fight after they take the tower? I just dont understand this....but i see it all the time. ive been in games on both sides of this and i just scratch my head wonder why it happens.

To me its simple. You either fight or you back off. Now i can understand if you are waiting for a key member on your team to spawn so they can be in the fight or if you are waiting for your ult to come up but thats not what im talking about. Im talking about situations where nothing has changed other than you no longer have your tower.

Maybe its just something that triggers people when they see their tower fall lol.......like a "ok , now im pissed" moment?

My general pet peeve is, when people act like they don't know how to defend tower.

You don't really need to start a fight, you just need to hit the minion wave.

People don't know how to NOT defend a turret, which is much worse. Like, 4 man mid push and my lone jungler tries to defend it? Seriously? He'll just die and turret gets destroyed anyways. You can see this especially at low elo

But that depends on what you're playing, because champs like VK supp can defend 1v4 push alone indefinitely, IF they have secure flanks and there's no 1500 range gapcloser Zed-like BS champion

I think is typically a panic response. When the inhib tower is lost people see how vulnerable they have become and they react. For some it is to back away and give up the inhib for free for others it is to dive in and try to stem the bleeding. Typically either response is not great, but you have to make a decision.

Velkoz Flesh units tend to panic when their protection is taken from them. A panicked flesh unit acts unpredictably.

Have you heard him speak before? Wether this is an actual quote or not doesnt really change the main point that he is running for the nation's highest office yet seems to only have 10 words in his vocabulary. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Honestly whenever I'm not using my tower to my advantage, it's because my opponent isn't stupid enough to get caught under it.

I know what you mean. I have seen this ALOT. Even LCS teams do it. Of course on the LCS level they usually do it to try to get a pick on whoever overextends to last hit the turret in a desperate attempt to get something out of a losing situation.

In my games though, I see this happening for no reason the majority of times. However, there is the rarer occasion where they are trying to stall until a dead ally respawns. Then they try to engage when the ally gets there.

Sometimes when youre under your inhib tower, it all comes down to who gets turret aggro first. If the tank gets it, that turret is going to be worthless for enough shots to give the team with a lead a winning fight

xBushx1 votes

Sometimes it just comes down to how fast they can burn your tower. Along with what CD's are up.

For instance if ONLY the ADC has attacked tower and no teams have even threw spells to poke and are Jokky-ing (Not sure how to spell, think soccer defense)

IF you engage them while they are under your tower they Engage with ALL abilities and you die anyways.

Most of the time all the Poke has been used and most things are on CD when the tower goes down and it CAN be a time to turn it.

But on the other hand it could be...."You took our tower"..."We take your lives" so they can't get anmore or are forced to retreat.

most teams will just disengage if you try to defend pull you out away from turrett and stomp your time anyways.

I think it's just a windows of opportunity thing.

but all-in-all mostly it's psychological i think.

Jockeying the main verb sense probably relates to the behavior of jockeys maneuvering for an advantageous position during a race.

To be real it should all depend on if the team has ults and summoners up....and if your team does as well.

If they burn ults and sums to get the tower down then your best chance is afterward. And if you have no sums or Ults up when they are taking the turret then it also isn't a good time.

It also depends if the other team takes damage while getting the turret. There are a lot of reasons where fighting after the turret might be okay or make sense. It can also be a bad idea as well. It just depends.

What I imagine what really happens is the team losses tower, then tries to poke the enemy off the inhib, someone extends too far and bates a team fight.

People who aren't willing to fight for their 3rd inhibitor turret/3rd inhib are just trying to lose tbh

You had to be that guy didnt you?

There's always that one guy who has to be a ass. And because they have nothing relevant to add to a thread with a legit question....they fall back on pointing out ranks, when this is a play that I see on all levels from bronze up to challenger and in pro play.

It's all about seeing an opening and looking for mistakes. Sieging requires zone control. When you take down a turret and try to advance to inhib, you're losing it. It's not always visible, but imagine it as as chess. You can take out enemy queen with yours, but you will lose her immidately if you do that... and while doing this trade, you might open your flank to surprise attack.

You can try to attack Jinx who is shooting at your tower, but everyone expects it and is ready to punish you.

Also, imagine Caitlyn with wall of traps between her and your tower. She's safe and she can siege without fear of initiation. But when turret falls, she will try to get inhibitor... without realizing she crossed her wall and she's in open field

Don't listen to him. Just a superiority complex. I have personally witnessed a Challenger player learn builds and the power of certain champions from Bronze players.

General Esdeath 1 votes

Same OP. Even worse is when there's 1 person attacking the turret and they do nothing but once that 1 becomes 3 they suddenly feel that they can fight the invaders.

Captain Aishi1 votes

Sometimes it's a good play, because the enemy team is sieging for a while, being careful to not overextend while sieging. But once the tower gets really low, and someone walks out of position in a hurry to finish it, suddenly it becomes a good opportunity to catch that someone.

Not always, but I see it happen quite often.

When i play a tank or initiator, and see an opening, im immidately going for it. For example, when i play Poppy and 4 enemy champions get on top of eachother, im not hesitating single second, just flash->R, w and try to move most valueable opponent towards my team or just stun him with E. Unexperienced players often don't see such openings, as it has alot to do with game knowledge, especially Cd and mechanics.

Also, bonus question: enemy team is divided into 2 groups, one consists of adc+mid+supp, the other has a tank jg and bruiser top. You as Poppy can ult one group and engage the other. What do you do?

Generally it seems to me as when they hit the tower they're barely inside you're base, if you try poke them then you're gonna get jumped under turret and instant killed whereas when they destroy turret they push up a little more and you can poke them more easily.

Lugg1 votes

I feel your pain, I see this happen all the time. If you aren't willing to fight under tower, you might as well just surrender right then and there. You aren't going to have any better advantage than that.
