I don't remember riots reasoning for it, but removing that part of the casting for the ult is the main thing I dislike about their nerfs, granted they got some heavy ones, but that was probably the most uneeded, it was a really nice... idiots leash, so to speak. and allowed much better placements of kindreds ult, instead of having it feels useless at times.
Gloom Shroom1 votesI think they removed it because it was simply too good of an ult for a non support champion. Basically Taric's ult but for all in the circle, a Kayle ult with healing, or a Trynd ult for more than one. So now it's only for Kindred
