Next game mode: RetroKill!

This is a suggestion and honestly I don't know which section it should really go on. It does kind of fall under the lines of Gameplay so there's that!

This game mode is completely retro. In this game mode, you can pick from seasons 1-4 and play on summoners rift in 5v5 settings. Each season will use the very last patch of its season. Also, in doing this, you'd be using the same summoner rift map from that season, same music, same original champion models and voices of that time as well as the old draft music in champ select. You'd also have the old default login screen to celebrate this event.

I realize this would probably be hard to pull off but I figure you must store the old patch files somewhere and maybe you could lump these together. We are celebrating 5 seasons of league of legends, let's get a little nostalgia going!

And if this isn't feasible, one can only dream

It's a neat idea but you grossly underestimate how difficult and bad this really is, you mention this in a sense where we would be loading the game using old patch "settings" when program patches don't work this way. Imagine going for an early season patch and finding a bunch of optimization changes are gone, or bug fixes, other hotfixed changes.

If you want to argue and say have it only work for champions then they have to do even MORE work then before just to fix past patches, which is insane to ask of them, and honestly why the hell would you want to go back?

At the very least you could change maps depending on season, but even still the optimization problem comes to mind, map bugs, and the fact they simply don't have the files anymore.

plus they have reworked a lot of programs in the game. theres an upcoming overhaul of the skillshot engine. they are gonna trash the old one after that. similar things have happened in the past (cone skillshots were ungodly hard to use pre season 3)

sorry, nah. i dont want to see elise come back, or jax, or any of the gamebreaking ops from past seasons.

I don't think season 4 should really be used. Not really retro going back only a year. Also, what patch would be used for champions that spanned more than 1 season. You say the last patch from each season, but does Kassadin get his season 4, 3, 2, 1, or Beta version? Also what about things that were removed in one season but present before. Early season had Dodge, but Season it was removed.

Of course this means that everything could be in release state, but oh god why XinZhao . I don't think some people are ready to have those PTSD flashbacks.

Oh yeah, and would that mean AP Yi gets to come back? Because holy shit.

And like someone already said, all the tryhards would ruin it. Every game would have Kassadin, Jax, Xin, AP Yi, and Vi. Unfortunately this game has devolved to the point where people are tryharding in ARAM and in Co-op vs AI.

You would use the patch right at the end of each season

So for example, you'd use the patch for season 1 right before season 1 ended, headed into preseason 2.

It would probably be easier to just revert all champions to their individual strongest states as well as every item in the game (including removed ones) and just see what happens. What's stronger 50 second stealth eve with 5 sunfires and mobo boots or Kass at his best point, or maybe it's 4 cleavers riven.

It's a neat idea, but a problem with it is how bloated your league folder would become. Remember, you have to download those voice packs and assets. You'd essentially have 5 versions of LoL installed on your computer (6 if they added a beta mode as well). That's a lot of downloading to force on people (since everyone would have to download all that, regardless of whether they'd want to play those modes)

Or just let us play on the old Summoner's Rift with every item that's ever been released so far with tweaks to make current items that existed then function similarly to their previous iterations.

ie WotA can have it's spell vamp aura again and Sunfire Capes are stackable.

Every.Single.Item. Imagine the glorious combinations.

Imagine the size of the patch to implement this. The update would be about twice the size of the current game.

An 8GB update for a temporary game mode would be impractical.

Finally a chance to make the all-AP S2 dream comp I never got a chance to play!

Soraka MR shred, Karthus flat MR shred on wall, Amumu's pre-nerfed MR shred passive, plus an Abyssal and the old 20 MPen Sorcs! Throw double Wota in the mix with an AP top too.
