Can Riot just pretend this entire season never happened?
I want to go back to a time where half your team didn't have smite. I want a time where smite was considered bad unless you were actually jungling, then it was pretty good. I want a time where jungle items weren't being nerfed based on a fucking laner using it.
I want to go back, to before
came out. I want to go to a time where
was viable, but not overtuned like in the pre-season.
I want to go back to where jungle items like Feral Flare and Spirit of the Ancient Golem gave the jungler free wards to promote warding the jungle.
I want to have AP assassins actually assassinate with DFG instead of just poke you down. In fact, as much as I hate the bitch, at least
stayed as her good old assassin self instead of being like
and turning into so bullshit kite mage.
I want to be able to have spirit stone so when I attack jungle monsters I get my hp and mana back. That'd be real nice. You know, when
could use his Q more than twice before running out of mana in the jungle.
I want to go back. So, so far back. I want to go back to when
was considered good. I want
to actually be relevant at any single point in the game. I want
to be a feared champion, not "who?" I want
and
to actually have a decent kit. Funnily enough, the latter 2 were nerfed as compensation for DFG's removal.
I want to go to a time where
's kit was considered overloaded, because now, that very same kit, is considered pretty subpar when compared to almost every new champion.
I want lore to actually be more than 2 sentences. Look at Gnar's lore. Beautiful, masterful, a lovely short story. Now look at any champion or retconned lore to come out after him. Two. Fucking. Sentences.
I want to go back where
's ult shadow was "way too safe," because I would gladly fight a Zed in his state in Season 4 over
or
.
I want to go back to where the best kiting in the game was done by
Q, E, R, Q and autoing while walking backwards, and not
just auto attacking.
You know this game has reached a problematic point when most people would rather fight
from when he could dash every second for no mana over almost any champion Riot has released since then.
I want to go back to when the counterplay to
was to sweep his stealth, cc him, and kill him quickly instead of just being within half a mile of a teammate and negating 90% of your damage.
I want to go back to when
could actually use his ult and be able to W or Flash to get out sooner. Because if you haven't noticed, literally any champion can casually walk out of his ultimate.
I honestly cannot say I 100% enjoyed a single addition to this game since Worlds last year. I used to play this game every single day, usually almost 10 games a day, or however I could squeeze into my time. Now, I barely even want to play a bot game for the first win bonus. Because as soon as season 5 started, I slowly stopped playing. I think the only time I played more than 3 games a day was during Urf, on weekends, when I played maybe a few games throughout the entire free day. Although even that got boring since this year everyone was a tryhard.
I don't care what numbers and statistics say. This game is on the downfall. The golden age is long gone. And it's all Riot's doing. Honestly, the only thing I've thoroughly enjoyed since the release of
was the
rework, and the original Urf from 2014. That's over a year. A whole year of mediocre changes and boring game play.
Hell, and in that time, Vel'Koz has been the only champion to be balanced on release since before
. The only other champion that wasn't broken was
, and he was ridiculously bad.
TL;DR: This is game is dying, and Season 5 is only killing it faster with every change.
