I'm not sure if getting defensive power around offensive stats is healthy.

I'm sure someone will tell me that the opposite is also true.

I really dont get ppl who complain about that.

Would you rather her shield scaling off defensive stats so you'd see 3k+ health rivens killing you anyway?

Having 1 defensive ability that scales off defense allows the champ to actually go glass cannon and do their job (which is how riven is supposed to be played, a squishy high damage melee champion), it gives them a reason to actually build damage items rather than just go bruiser like rengar.

She probably wouldn't build that tanky as she'd lose too much damage.

She'd basically rely on her dps and not her burst.
