My love Wukong explained.

Way before the release the release of Duskblade & Stormrazor, my Wukong build was item 3074 item 3068 item 3065 item 3026 (back when it gave both resistances)item 1001

The other item was either item 3071 or item 3072 or item 3083

I love top lane and Wukong was one of very few meta top laners that could change a team fight in his favor by having survivability and using his ult. Whittling down the enemies and not able to be killed. If ignored, his ult would melt squishies, but shouldn't be focused because of how tanky he was.

There's literally no other AD champion I can think of that can jump in the middle if 5 enemies to engage while doing enough damage to multiple enemies to warrant retreat or focus.

The only relative alternate option to fulfill this role is JarvanIV.

With that in mind, it should be noted that Wukong's passive and Jarvan's W both suck in terms of survivability, they need to be updated/buffed.

Aatrox Garen Darius Renekton Illaoi

They literally all have to summoner 4 to get into position. When I say middle, I mean the middle. As in passing the front line and landing directly on the marksmen/artillery mages in the back, and doing enough damage to threaten/kill all squishies.

Sion can do it with his ult if he comes from behind the enemy team without being noticed.

I was just listing the other AD champions that can do what you described. He's an ok champion. Not very original, since he's popular in most forms of media due to being a public domain character.

But the weebs love the monkey king.

You forgot the part where I said "melt squishies" It's very rare that a Garen Darius Illaoi makes it past the front line. Renekton can double dash to the back line, but doesn't have the burst to 100-0 squishies in less than 5 seconds, which is a long ass time in a team fight. It's the same problem I have with Olaf , he can get there but he can rarely finish.

Old Aatrox didn't have the burst Aatrox and I didn't take new Aatrox into consideration, so I guess I'll try him out since you brought it to my attention, especially since they just extended the range on his dash.

Though Darius/Illaoi are god-tier, especially with Ravenous Hunter and item 3812 , I never see them getting close to the marksmen/artmages in a team fight with anything short of flashing.

On that note of Aatrox I'm thinking that Kayn (Rhaast) is viable to fulfill this role.

Point is, short of a Amumu Janna , Wu and J4 can get the job done (there knockup plays a big role in it) which is why I think Aatrox/Kayn work.

TL;DR getting into position to kill squishies is number 1 priority (can't always wait on flash). Second, they have to be able to do the damage fast enough to kill before mobility happens Leblanc Kaisa Ahri Xayah
