How good would death timer runes have to be

Pierce The Veal··2 votes·862 views

To be worth taking? I'm sure there's a value between 0% and 100% where it would be worth taking. If we upped it to 45% I'm pretty sure it would always be taken, so where's the point where it becomes worth considering, but not worth taking unconditionally?

110%, so you split into two champions right before you die.

Never because dying should never be your goal unless you're Karthus. No one plays Karthus.

KogMaw Sion

Kog'maw's death passive isn't more useful than Kog'maw's auto attacks which can only be used when he's alive. Sion wolf suicide doesn't work anymore and he's more useful when he's alive because he can provide cc You can just run from dead sion or dead kog'maw; you can't run from an uninterruptable, free karthus ult.

I'm sure there would be a point where the time saved woukd make it worth it.

It would never be worth it because you would be sacrificing early game stats that are vital to last hitting, winning trades, surviving lane, etc. They would have to basically make the runes remove death timers, and even then i'm not sure they would be taken. They're just powerfeed runes.

Highly doubt that they wouldn't be taken if they offered at least 50% death time. Late game that's 20 more second off your death timer. It becomes a lot less risky to die.

I don't even think that %time death runes are that bad if you can consistently get to lategame. A lost teamfight could still be saved, or in a more extreme case, as toplaner running those while your minions are knocking on the enemy nexus door could just end the game in the few seconds he gets out of death earlier.

Sure such a power level exists.. but... they'd be always bad in my eyes.

Death-Runes will always be a "Play to not Lose"-decision instead of a "Play to Win"-decision I prefer. Even on scaling Champions such as Veigar who draws alot of profit out the fact he has more time to farm - will course his decission once he reaches the lategame he wanted to get into by using them. Because at this point, more MagicPen/CDR would increase his power even more while Death-Runes are dead slots while fighting.

URF showed us how strong low Deathtimers are - but in the end... I don't think they would be really helpfull even with high numbers. ^^

If it means I can protect my inhib when I die lategame at enemy inhib, then I would consider them. I understand what you're getting at, and I agree, but not losing is one step closer to victory. If you don't lose hard enough you will win.

Here's what I think though. If death runes where strong enough, then everyone would take them, and then there'd be no point to them existing in the first place.

Even if they were buffed, people wouldn't die enough to make them worth. You shouldn't go into a game planning to die, you should go into it planning to have a good early game and spending little to no time dead.

No,

But this is all an investment. If late game it's going to shave 20 seconds off of your potential death, even if you don't die, it's a worthy investment.

The only way they would ever possibly work is if they scaled with level.

I mean, it's not like even 100% death time would be that good level 1.
