Question for you, Riot.

Why do you even BOTHER releasing new champs? Why bother reworking old ones? There's only 2-3 champs per role that are viable anyway since no one can compete with them, so why bother making anything else?

Any time any other champ can even COMPETE with your money makers, you gut them and nerf them into the ground. So I just don't get why you release them in the first place..

Yea, why bother with making new and innovating content when everything will just be balanced around a couple champions anyway? It's not like they'll have a ton of the playerbase leave if they just stop adding new things.

I mean it just seems like a waste of money, since no one will play them since they can't even compete.

How often do you see Illaoi? Camille? Taliyah? Yorick? Any of them? Almost never.

Illaoi just fell out of the meta. Camille was broken so they nerfed her. She is still good, but not unbelievably broken so no one really plays her now. Taliyah has been making a pretty big resurgence and yorick is too feast or famine for the current meta.

Illaoi was never meta.

Camille was never broken, morons just don't want actual counterplay.

Taliyah is still never played.

Yorick isn't feast or famine.

Illaoi was meta for a bit when tanks were big.

Camille was definately broken. She has so many tools in her kit + having one of the highest damage combos in the game at release made her very, very broken.

Taliyah is actually played fairly often compared to a lot of other champs.

Yorick definately is. He either gets fed and takes over a game or he just kind of sits there split pushing.

Illaoi was meta for like, two days when she came out, and that was it.

Camille had a lot of damage, but her kit is more telegraphed than literally anyone else in the game. Avoid the outer ring of her W? Hey wow, no slow. Avoid her second Q, or CC her before she can use it? Wow, no true damage. Realize her E is a straight line? Wow, you sidestepped it like a pro. She ults you? Just turn and fight her, CC her, or throw her out of it. Wow, her ult was wasted.

Compared to Yorick maybe, but overall no.

Then you're playing with or against bad Yoricks. He's not feast or famine, he's just not a free win, and has to do specific things in order to do much of anything. If he's fed, he can just ignore half of the things he needs, and kill people anyway.

Most of the champions are viable, just some are not in the meta. Lulu was on the wayside for a longtime until she was found to be a reliable counter to the assassin meta. Some champions fall out of meta, does not mean they aren't viable. I've seen almost every champion being played within the last 2 months. Of course some are more popular, but it doesn't change that fact. Additionally new champs are introduced to add a fresh character. A new fun element to the game. Sure that character may not appeal to you, but it certainly does appeal to others playing the game.

A lot of champions are "viable", but only 2-3 per role are "good." That's why the LC$ roster is maybe 30 champs.

Doesn't matter that I enjoy Yorick, Galio, Taliyah, Sol, Nidalee, Jhin, Skarner, Tahm Kench, Illaoi, or any other champ, because they just can't compete with the bullshit free wins. So, while I can play whatever I want and do fine, I can't expect to win unless I play the free wins.

So, why release new champs if they're not allowed to be remotely competitive?

They've just fallen out of meta, Camille was played alot up to like a couple months ago. Illaoi and Yorick are coming back too. Not every game is going to have the same champions...even ur games are quite diverse (lol, dont really understand why you are complaining, almost all of your games have had a differing set of champions each time)

Yes, why bother making something that'll help keep the game alive by making new contents?
