Fiora is a Failed Rework?

I thought fiora was a really cool champion rework. I think her passive is really cool and her passive proc minigame is really fun. Its actually my favorite rework and I think her character model is actually cool. The prancing was a bit silly at first but I like it now and the only gameplay that doesn't make sense to me is the huge healing pad. Seems like she should get more hp for procing a vital and get something else, like charges of her w for procing multiple vitals. That's a lot more interactive than what she has now. Resets of w for procing vitals, charges of w for procing ulti vitals.

I wouldn't say she is a failed rework, but I would say her healing is frustrating. When she can stand still and outheal the damage of Sion's punches in his passive, then there is a problem imo. I also don't like how her W makes her immune to everything for a short period of time rather than blocking one ability, but it rewards quick reflexes as is.

She's fun to play (from the short time I have played her) so I can't say she is a failure. She's somewhat fun to play against as she keeps me on my toes (or makes me keep my passive up as Pantheon) but against tanks (which I enjoy) she kinda makes you her bitch. Not a failed rework, was just hard to adapt.

and who said that?

visually shes weird. i dont like her prancing persoally, though i wouldnt go as far saying its failed. but her base kit fits her perfectly well.

the only thing thats a bit iffy is how her ult works out. shes extremely reliant on the heal to survive teamfights and actually be able to carry. and if you build her for cdr like shes intended to be played, then she runs out of mana really fast in teamfights.

they should have made her recourceless like yasuo imo, considering how dependent she is on her spells to carry.

I like her as a laner, but she can't jungle worth anything anymore and I agree she should have been resourceless, but that might have made her extremely strong, at least I remember when the rework came out she was getting pentakills far easier in the games I played.

thing is, being recourceless is mainly an early game advantage. its most noticable early game in lane when everyone is still very mana dependent and didnt get to buy any items yet to improve the manapool.

it feels like in lane. when she mostly goes in for short trades, her mana bar is barely even there anyways. so it wouldnt make much of a difference at all. but later on in extended teamfights when she basically constantly has to spam q and e to move around and carry, it would help her out a lot.

ive read through the article, and the failure theyre describing has nothing to do with the kit changes, but with the visual update.

i wish they would have listened this much when they changed garen with his vu. i still prefer the way he presented himself as a character before the changes.

he seemed like a confident, but reserved guy. his armor might have looked bad texture wise, but was more detailed and segmented. and then they also changed his haircut to be glued to his head.

he basically changed to some angry dude in shoulder armor that looks like taken straight out of wow, with a justin beiber haircut. and they removed some of the more fun little attributes, like the skysword animation which was replaced by lightning, and the punch animation for melee attacks. still kinda disappointed and left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I kind of agree. I run out of mana when I split. Also, how did you feel about giving her resets on her w if she procs her passive? That seems cool.

that sounds kindof crazy. shes supposed to proc her passive rather often. shell definitiely do it in lane. it means she could have riposte up almost every second. youd never be able to fight her with that.

i dont play much fiora. ur probs right. maybe if there were some changes to repost and passive. If you took away the dmg from passive it would make a coolish laning style. It seems like some kind of a reset mechanic might be able to fit in there somewhere, but you would have to be careful ab it. Idk thanks for thoughts tho. I see u in here all the time.

Actually read the article, it was all about people's reaction to her appearance. Unsurprisingly, you take a pretty character and turn her into an ugly one and players don't like it. According to the article, people generally like all the gameplay changes.

Riot tried to spin it like it was this identity that players had about the champion because they were used to her old face, but Poppy's rework turned her face from the exploding guy in Big Trouble in Little China to some kawaii thing straight out of an anime and comments about her previous identity are few and far between.
