With new Abyssal Scepter, it's time for more MR itemizarion Riot.

MR already sucks as it is. We need more variety. You can start by reducing the combined cost of Spirit Visage and Banshees receipes by 200 gold. Then you can buff the MR up to 60 or 70 because there's no way you can ever feasibly build 2 MR items (aside from Mercs which is steady necessary for the tenacity) and expect not to be ripped to shreds by ADCs.

Thanks friends

As Riot has stated before, they don't want too many magic resist items as, i believe they said something about it being too strong against ap compared to armor which is needed against ad.

I don't care what they think they want, I don't want to have to build 3 MR items now just to not be 100-0'd in a full rotation from an enemy AP with new itemization like Ludens and such. Then factor in I built 3 MR items and the enemy ADC killed me in 2 auto attacks.

Itemization*

For some reason my phone thinks itemizarion is a word and auto corrects itemization to it. And for some reason I can't edit topic titles through my phone either.

They did say they intend to make a new MR item after this, but it's gonna be specifically for mages because the new Scepter is based at AP tanks and bruisers.

The new Scepter is kinda crazy but it's hard to say what sort of impact it'll have so I think buffing the current MR items would be a kneejerk reaction.

Yes because mages immediately need another MR item because of their stake and lacking itemization much the same way they needed another 120 AP item because an abusive item was removed from the game that only a few champs built in the first place

Boy I love mages

I didn't give them the idea lol. Just saying there's another MR item on the way. Don't forget this item itself has 60 MR.

Hey I know man

It's just getting kind of silly how MR itemization for non APs hasn't been looked at with recent additions like Ludens, the potential change to abyssal and now apparently another MR/AP item for mages.

I agree, honestly. For starters, the MR on Athene's is a joke. 25 MR will basically equal nothing against typical opponents. Bump it up to 35 and it MAY be acceptable, but I doubt Riot will do that because of the other stats the item gives.

I would like to actually have the ability to give my Lux more than 55-68 MR without gutting her damage output. Banshee's Veil is not acceptable on her because it kills too much burst power.

Okay, tell me how you avoid being caught out of position by a Leblanc or Fizz. Oh, and no saying "Don't pick Lux" because BLIND PICKS.

Sorry there's a small pool of champions who can gap close to your champion whose casting ranges are al 1100+

"But we want to see people get ripped to shreds by ADCs." -ADCs everywhere

If their ADC is shut down, do you really have to worry about itemizing against him early? If you grab a SV and a banshees and their ADC is starting to make a comeback, those two items give you enough health to consider a thornmail as your main armor item. Toss on a warmogs and as a tank, you'll be good enough.

There's NO WAY that Abyssal Sceptre change will stay as it is currently is on the PBE.

I mean, I look at that item and just think: HOLY F**ING SHT.

With the current stats, that thing is League of Cleavers Cleaver level strong - especially if the MR shred is applied as a debuff. If two people have it (like a top lane Mao/Cho/Shen/AP-based tank and a jungle Gragas/Sejuani/Amumu/Zac), every enemy basically runs around with 45% reduced magic resist. Add Void Staff and Sorcerer's Shoes to the mix, and AP mid laners will have the time of their lives.

MR itemization is, by necessity to not completely shut out burst mages, not strong enough to accomodate for another %-based pen/shred effect. Especially if said effect is that strong.

they should just move item 3170item 3112 into the rift

If you're getting hit so hard by magic damage get some HP.

Magic damage is usually bursty. Meaning HP is the better form of dealing with it in most cases. As long as your MR is decent.

What makes AD so different is that it's damage is continuous. It's not about surviving the burst, it's about how long you survive.

If you're facing someone like Kayle or Teemo, it works out because they cannot crit.

Making MR heavy items with 70 MR will upset a lot of balance in the game.
