Dragon vs mid lane t1 tower

Better Jungler··2 votes·620 views

For a debate with a friend

Scenario: Dragon call is made, mid's outermost tower (T1) is getting seiged by the last remaining enemy champ. This tower will go down if we dont go to defend it, but if definitly will not get pushed to the t2 turret.

Question: Does dragon out weigh the outermost mid lane tower.

Side facts you may want to know.:

we were behind, enemy had two dragon buffs, 20 minute mark.

THE ONLY REAL QUESTION:

Do the benefits of ONE dragon buff, outweigh the outermost mid tower going down.

the first dragon buff can be worth over 2k in stats per carry(post 30). also you are slowing down the chance of a 5th dragon problem. A lot of players do not appreciate what the movement speed buff does (3rd D) for the enemy team.

20 minute outer tower being up when behind sounds unrealistic, either you have great wave clear or they are not that far ahead.

The real question is how many of your team mates were up? Could you safely defend the tower? How much HP the tower was going to have after defending? What roles were up? Eta on the enemy team coming up, ect. You really do not include a enough information to give a quality thought on this.

Thanks for responding there! I was the midlaner in question there, and we had a debate on whether I should have helped with dragon or stayed guarding tower. Let me fill on some of the information: I was talon, and the enemy pushing was heimer. The tower was almost full health, and the minions were not at tower, meaning I cleared it with rake+hydra Everyone was up, but our jungler(Nautilus) was pushing top. Both their midlaner(Zed) and jungler(Lee sinner) was approaching. As for why the tower was still up, I was winning lane, and as talon, I naturally had good waveclear with w.

Once again, I really appreciate you taking the time out to help us.

i would say it would be a toss up at this point but questionable to go for dragon without the jungler around, until you know how everything plays out it is all guess work. Though i really question why the jungler (a naut) is split pushing when he is all CC.

Gut reaction here is that it is better save the tower this time. If the enemy jungler is coming in for the dragon contest you could get wiped at dragon. Though i could be wrong ( it is really hard to know things like this, team dps ect.) but the jungler top is what leads me to say save tower

dragon is useless unless its 5th

tower > dragon always

can you explain why you think that? not disagreeing just trying to get better.

tower gives map control and gold, dragon only gives a small buff 6% bonus is not even worth 100 gold per person early, and thats the useful bonus.

a first tower is devastating and usually leads to collapse of all 3 outers.

and then you have this atrocity called rift herald that is literally never worth taking unless you are actually going to take turrets with it.
