Syndra now has the lowest win rate in the game according to LoLking

Nausicäa ··8 votes·3,581 views

From a balanced 49-50% win rate to 41%.

Something is clearly wrong with the way that Riot balances this game when things like this routinely happen.

Its ok though, she will have some company next patch when they gut Azir unnecessarily too.

If she was "high skill cap" like people claimed, then having a 49-50% win rate would've been a clear indication how she wasn't balanced.

She is a high skill cap champion, except her skillcap was dramatically lowered by DFG as it allowed otherwise mediocre players to get easy kills.

Point being she did not need nerfs in addition to DFGs removal. Id guess DFG boosted her winrate by at least 5%

Anivia is high skill cap and typically has a 51% win rate.

Syndra tended to be around 48% anyway, but even if 49-50% was too good on someone like her then 41% is about a mile too far in the other direction.

Anivia's play rate is much lower which leads to the idea that mostly her mains play her boosting her win rate. Syndra has a higher play rate which means that there are either more Syndra mains or that players generally pick her up because her kit is quite strong and very forgiving.

3.86% Syndra 1.84% Anivia

Ya sorry but no.

True. Being honest I don't think Syndra was entirely balanced before her nerfs, pretty much solely because her stun was super forgiving. But if they just nerfed that without bugging it like crazy then she would have been fine. DFG's removal on top of her destroyed early game and the mana regen nerfs just went ridiculously overboard on her.

They should have waited until the impact of the DFG removal was felt before they went after her. It was very presumptuous to assume she wouldn't be affected at all, and honestly it was somewhat presumptuous to nerf Q before seeing what the E change did too.

Right now she's a buggy mess whose main specialty (strong early game) no longer exists and whose main late game use (stun) is entirely unreliable. Something needs to be done.

Shes actually not really bugged anymore since 5.2. Her E no longer fails to properly stun, at least in the 10 or so games ive played her.

So a bug is not affecting her win rate.

I've actually seen a few fail stuns :o Not as often as last patch but I don't think it's gone away just yet.

If it is still bugged, its significantly better than before and does not happen very often. Either way thats not whats contributing to her low win rate.

The biggest problem i feel is the fact they mana regen was nerfed AND her base damages were nerfed. This makes her early game pretty terrible. Even mid game i find she goes oom extremely fast now.

Chances are its just because of the smaller hitbox. You actually have to aim it pretty well to get the stun now, you don't get a few free units.

This is the most intelligent thing I've read on this thread yet. Well said.

No, you don't talk about skill cap in these incidences, you talk about skill FLOOR. How easy the champion is to pick up. Rumble has a very high skill floor for example. Anivia's floor is terribly easy since she has R-E combos as a thing.

I never thought I'd hear QQ that Anivia is too easy to play in League of Mobility.

Facts aren't QQ. You need very little practice with Anivia to at least be somewhat proficient, you need much more with Syndra (at least without DFG being a thing now). Brand has a high skill floor, Velkoz has a high skill floor, Anivia don't.

Except for the part where you die in real life the instant the enemy picks Zed.

Anivia has a high skill floor because she isn't viable unless you're really good. Koz you just watch your adc farm and press a random key every once in a while.

She's not "too easy" that's not even what he said lol

Anivia's basic combo is very simple to pull off, and doesn't require much skill or practice. Thus she has a low skill floor.

Syndra was indeed OP, and you should look very cautiously on a 50% win rate Syndra. Very likely OP because of how hard she is to play.

The problem here is simple -- two Riot teams working on different things and not talking to each other. As a result, Syndra got hit with the DFG nerf (she is one of the most DFG reliant champions) and a stun nerf in the same patch.

first off, she dosent have the lowest winrate, she is fourth at 43.7. Urgot (vu please), rumble and elise all have lower winrates. Second off, its mostly because her skill floor is extreamly high.

yes thats why she needed the nerfs.

Oh my God, even on champion.gg it's true. She wins less games than support Nunu now!

yea its sad what happened to syndra meanwhile mages like ahri went from 51 to 57 after the "nerfs" now you cant win a trade against ahri nor gank her, but yeah nerf syndra she was op

They wanted to fix her stun (the orbs would too easily collide with champs) and instead broke it. after they fixed the stun properly they removed DFG.

Things contributing to her reduced win rate

-(preseason)Mana regen massively nerfed. She is particularly affected due to the spammy nature of her kit. -(5.2) DFG removed -(5.1) Early base damages nerfed, significantly reducing her early game power, compounded with the mana regen nerfs, her early game is quite poor. -(5.1) Stun width nerfed. Her stun is the crux of her entire kit as shes a pick based single target burst mage.

I haven't played her and have seen her only a couple times. My understanding is that she's extremely effective in the right hands and on the right team that can support her early game troubles. But if you get an unexperienced player she's dead weight.

The trick would be to look at the win rate from those who "main" her and then the win rate when someone who has not played her much brings her out. If the ones who use her as their "main" are at 41%, there might be a problem, but if they are at 50% or better, it might be the skill cap. I just peeked at the top 4 Syndra players according to LOLKing. One has a 12-13 w/l record. The other 3. 28-16, 15-6, and 24-12. It appears that someone with enough games played can do quite well with her.

This community only cares about winrate when it supports their demands.

Otherwise winrate "doesn't matter".

See all the Leblanc QQ last Summer and now Kalista QQ.

because dfg+r point and click delete on anyone and everyone was sooooo healthy. and as if that was the only problem. not only could she delete anyone in teamfights with no impunity, but right after she could w her orbs on the ground and massively cc the whole enemy team.

At the rate fizz's WR is dropping, he will pass her as the lowest soon enough
