just wanted to write this post, Blitz and Thresh are "the same champion" to most players while considering Thresh to be a better version of Blitzcrank my goal is to shatter this thought and show you when you should pick one of them as a blitz main, and a thresh main
-insane burst
-more reliable engage than thresh with bonus movement speed+instant hook
-way more tanky with mana barrier+base stats in early game
-insane cc
-insane peeling
-lantern
-less reliable engage
thing is when you look at this list, at first you would think that thresh is a better blitz, but it's untrue blitz's hook is a billion time more powerful, it goes through walls, it's instant, and more importantly it hooks someone right on top of your team Combine this with a really good tankiness, blitz is able to lane bully really hard While thresh gets often poked down by ranged supports unless he manages to outplay the enemies and land a hook
Thing is, Blitz is only relevant if you're able to burst the target you hooked right after to prevent them to flee
If you understood all of this, you should understand when to pick blitz and when to pick thresh
your adc is
-----> pick blitz
enemy support is
----->pick blitz
however, blitz has a dog tier level of peeling, so if you feel like you need peel and your adc will be in danger you should pick thresh
DO NOT pick blitz into braum/tahm kench/alistar or things like that you will be useless as they will bodyblock your hook
DO NOT pick thresh into poke lanes like
+
, seriously don't you will be outranged, poked down, and bursted down because thresh is squishy as fuck in early game
special moments where you can pick thresh:
those champions have interesting AOE abilities that get countered by lantern
use lantern on an ally to help him to get away from the AOE
Sincerly, a Blitz and Thresh main [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
